AIBU with how much I can't stand clingfilm

It's not like a cringey "don't like the feel of it /makes me feel funny" thing

It's more of, how effing irritating it is to use

To fine the end
Pull it out of container without ripping
"Cutting" it off with that useless thing on the box
Then having to rip it (which then screms everything up
And the piece you're left with is smaller than you need
So you pull it to try and stretch it a little
Which either rips it
Or it pings out of your hand and the cling film ends up sticking together

I literally hate clingfilm with a passion

I should add that I'm heavily pregnant and feeling sorry for myself. But this clingfilm thing is starting to tip me over the edge

😁

Get the baco cling film in the solid plastic container - it's pink. It's life-changing. I get the rage every time I get forced to use normal cling film!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 06/09/2018 19:43

Get some beeswax wraps. Much more eco friendly and way less cling stress Smile

Angrybird345 · 06/09/2018 19:53

Get Costco clingfilm... I could dance with it the still use it easily!

Whisky2014 · 06/09/2018 19:55

Apparebtly the hairy bikers say to keep it in the fridge and all your problems are resolved

WindyWednesday · 06/09/2018 19:58

Marks and Spencer do cling film with perforations. It’s the only one I can use for all the reasons you list above. It’s perfect.

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 06/09/2018 20:15

I hate it. Don’t have it in the house. Have not had any for years. And never missed it either

Leeds2 · 06/09/2018 20:17

I have some. Not used it for years, as I hate the stuff. It has probably gone rotten by now anyway.

FreeButtonBee · 06/09/2018 20:20

Yes to the bacofoil catering size one in a proper box. Also cling film clings to ITSELF! This was a life changing revelation to me. So you need to cut it 1.5 times bigger than your vessel and allow it to wrap to itself. I was 36 when I learnt this (probably from MN!)

PrincessWire · 06/09/2018 20:22

It's because it clings to itself that it ends up in a ball whenever I try to use it! Which I don't anymore - I haven't for years. Foil, sandwich bags and waxed paper get me by.

TheNoodlesIncident · 06/09/2018 20:32

As Random suggests, get the Bacofoil clingfilm container. You pull out the clingfilm to the required distance and then slam the lid down to cut it.

I like to pretend it's a guillotine and I'm doing away with annoying things. 'Tis most therapeutic Grin and easily the least pesky clingfilm experience you're likely to have.

buttybuttybutthole · 06/09/2018 20:57

I'm with you OP. Have the exact same problems 😂

WhoWants2Know · 06/09/2018 21:06

The smell makes me nauseous

Waitingonasmiley42 · 06/09/2018 21:07

Cling film and fitted sheets both ruin my life.

delphguelph · 06/09/2018 21:08

Yeah it's a pain in the hoo ha

Eliza9917 · 06/09/2018 23:13

I fucking hate cling film. I can't use it. I use tin foil or sandwich bags or anything else instead.

recklessruby · 06/09/2018 23:44

I hate sellotape. The way you always lose the end even if you're careful and fold it over.
I hate the big giant rolls that fall off the table and stick to all the wrapping paper when you are wrapping a difficult fiddly present.
Cling film sucks but my dc use it to wrap around new tattoos until they heal. So we always have the stuff.

steff13 · 07/09/2018 02:29

I can't work it. I've accepted that now. I use Press n Seal wrap.

BusterGonad · 07/09/2018 02:33

I hate it with a passion, the shittish stuff ever. The bit with is suppose to cut the cling film always falls off!

abbsisspartacus · 07/09/2018 02:35

Yy to putting it in the fridge it works! It's less clingy for about a minute leaving you enough time to wrap what you need to
