We've just started letting DD7 play out with either me or DH supervising. We thought it would be nice for her to make friends with the children that live on the street. There are quite a number of children that play out unsupervised as young as 5 but people drive like it's a race track and we only have our drive and the pavement before the road. Most of the kids have no road sense and there's frequent near misses.
She has just had some friends call for her for the first time but DH is out and I'm putting DS3 to bed so I said she couldn't go out. AIBU to not let her go out to play on her own?
