So many of the threads in AIBU are really divided. Think it would be really interesting if there was just a quick voting function available e.g.

AIBU - yes / no
Should I pay or should they - you / them
Should I LTB - LTB / stay

Etc etc. Results could be displayed on the first page of the thread maybe? Would give a reflection of the opinions without having to go through pages of comments or sift through bunfights. So many comments/opinions just get lost in the thread.

Love this idea. An easy way to see how controversial something is and still able to see all the messages which is half the fun!

Yes!!

I'd like it, sometimes you really know you're in the minority of views, but don't want to stick head above parapet to avoid aggro... and suspect you're part of a big minority. I wonder if voting function could be abused? Maybe needs to be more than a single click, ask for a login so that we know votes are genuine.

Chugalug · 06/09/2018 18:03

Yes I've thought this ....or one like the daily mail on line has ,where you click yes you agree or no you don't and it shows the numbers of yes or no to each comment..then you have top comment if the day

monkeysox · 06/09/2018 18:05

Good idea

ilovesooty · 06/09/2018 18:06

Sorry I don't agree. It isn't Facebook.

AwdBovril · 06/09/2018 18:08

I would love this! It could work like a "poll" option, like they have on other platforms. Brilliant!

They'll never go for it though.

Firesuit · 06/09/2018 18:11

Other forums I'm on do allow you to set up a poll question for a thread. It doesn't have to be as simple as unreasonable or not, OP gets to define several different answers to a multiple choice question, if they wish.

Sparklingbrook · 06/09/2018 18:15

No they shouldn't. It's MN talk because you are supposed to communicate not just click an up or down arrow or cast your vote.
