Stupidly unfair on my DD?

I’ll try to keep it sort. DD is doing an internship abroad, big group of them but all working at different companies.

One girl given a bus pass to use that doesn’t work on her bus route (travel was included as part of package deal) and asked to swap for DDs.

DD agreed and used her but found out it also invalid on her bus route. DD asked for her own bus pass back and was made out to be a total bitch.

The girl who asked to swap is expecting DD to go to the group leader every morning to collect her bus fare in cash and she keep DD’s pass.

That’s harsh...but she did agree to swap.

rudehealth · 06/09/2018 19:44

Your DD didn’t check the validity of the pass before swapping???!

Sparklesocks · 06/09/2018 19:46

That is unfair, but it sounds like something your DD needs to sort?

Havaina · 06/09/2018 19:48

Has DD spoken to the group leader? She may get her pass back for her.

Important lesson for your dd: think carefully before you offer your important things to others. The feeling of having lost something lasts alot longer than the feel good factor of giving something away.

It’s a harsh lesson for your DD to learn, but she has given her pass away.

margaurette · 06/09/2018 19:56

This sounds like exactly the sort of life lesson your daughter is going an internship to learn.

Check before you agree to things, and stand up for yourself after it's happened.

Having your mum get cross on the internet is rarely a useful option.

I would have no qualms in telling DD to get her own bus pass back. I would also have a word about giving it to the other girl in the first place.
