To think ASDA can't have run out of bread?

Just checked my order coming later - couple of substitutions (which I think I can hand back to the driver yes?) And the four loaves of bread are not available. No substitutions, haven't been swapped for a different brand or even type - just no bread coming whatsoever. Is this normal? Surely they have bread available?

I’ve been to places where there is no bread at all within an acceptable date, so quite possibly yes.

SneakyGremlins · 06/09/2018 13:27

Really? Confused

Only bought it for the freezer! Grin

Yes there's many a time I've had stuff unavailable but feel pretty confident if I went to the store it'd be there

AdoraBell · 06/09/2018 13:28

No idea. Sounds like a pain though, can you get some bread elsewhere?

SneakyGremlins · 06/09/2018 13:28

I think it's just because it's such a basic food that I'm surprised. I'd understand with a particular ready meal or brand of cereal but own brand bread?

Ah, but did you order tiger bread? 🐅🐅🐅

teaandtoast · 06/09/2018 13:38

X-post!

ProcrastinatingPingu · 06/09/2018 13:39

Yep really!
That being said it was a Saturday, I wouldn’t expect it mid-week.
The same with milk in a Morrison’s I went to last year. Absolutely baffling.

Creeper8 · 06/09/2018 13:39

Ive had no toilet roll available before with tescos and no subsitute and same with beans Confused

southnownorth · 06/09/2018 13:41

Asda's had no milk the other day when my order came. So I went down there was loads of milk.

BuffysFavouriteStake · 06/09/2018 13:46

Find it very hard to believe there was absolutely no bread!

I ordered their own brand gin on last order. Unavailable, and apparently nothing they could sub it with Hmm. Even the driver said it was ridiculous. Wrote them a stinking email, pointing out that yes, it was only gin, but what would I have done if it was something essential like nappies, or formula?

Yesterday got another delivery. Own brand gin not available. Subbed me a larger bottle of top brand stuff this time Grin

SneakyGremlins · 06/09/2018 13:47

So I've just taken my delivery....

Wtaf!!

Driver says all their systems were down earlier so he has no paperwork to give me.

So clearly they DID swap bread and didn't tell me!

then also swapped my pasta sauce

SneakyGremlins · 06/09/2018 13:52

AND they've swapped my BBQ garlic bread for tomato and garlic bread!

And finally, the ultimate first world problem - the Lurpak tub I ordered is swapped for s block of Lurpak.

sneaky be thankful you don't live somewhere benighted like Blegium, where they don't sell Lurpak, except at the British supermarket for €6.50 for a small tub! A US friend brought me two blocks of Lurpak from their US commissary. I thanked her profusely, as any Lurpak is better than none!

loubluee · 06/09/2018 14:31

Is snow due???????? < runs to get car keys... >

sparklepops123 · 06/09/2018 14:35

Least you got carrier bags, I had to traipse full crates through to my kitchen the other day

goldhen · 06/09/2018 15:09

I went straight to google for the BBQ garlic bread, didn’t even know that was a thing!

SneakyGremlins · 06/09/2018 15:20

Lou no but a period of no income is Grin
