It’s not BU to shit in the Center Parcs pool

Or at least that’s the assumption I’ve come to after my most recent visit.

We went to the pool 4 days (for a maximum of 2 hours each visit)

3 of the 4 times they had to shut the wave pool because it had been pood in.

We go at least twice per year and have it at least once a trip.

HOW?!?!?

For god sake people. Don’t shit in the pool. Dont let your kids shit in the pool. Check nappies.

We didn’t go in the wave pool all week because of the public’s seeming inability to use a toilet.

Snort! I think you’re at the same one we’re at!

Day 4 and I think it’s been closed at least once a day for reasons requiring some poor member of staff to go wading in with a net! 😂 [boak]

Polkapjs · 06/09/2018 13:27

Who is doing the poops??!!

serbska · 06/09/2018 13:29

Oh wow that never happened all the times I’ve been at CP.

Why are parents so shit (literally) at dealing with their children now?

A few weeks ago my SiL was asking her toddler if she needed a wee before we sat down to lunch. The kido was moving about like she needed it. SIl says ‘you look like you need it, are you sure? Ok sweetie just let me know when you want to go”

Anyway 2 mins lasted she does a massive piss all over the floor. FFS just take her ‘just in case’.

Squirrelfruitandnutkin · 06/09/2018 13:30

I’m assuming it’s little ones with inadequate swim nappies. Luckily we’ve never been in the pool when it’s been evacuated!

Havaina · 06/09/2018 13:30

Some people really think their or their children's shit doesn't stink!

SneakyGremlins · 06/09/2018 13:31

Was expecting this to be the hit sequel to and maybe result of vigorous anal sex at center parcs..

chillpizza · 06/09/2018 13:31

My mum went aboard and the pool shut twice due to toddlers pooping in the pool as the parents didn’t but a swim nappy on them. So grim.

MikeCheck12 · 06/09/2018 13:32

I think you're being a bit harsh, OP.

All that bum sex going on, the odd anal accident is bound to happen.

CripsSandwiches · 06/09/2018 13:32

Very weird. I've never been seen a public pool closed because of someone doing a poo! It happened at the school pool once but I assumed the DC involved must have been sick (no idea who it was).

OldSpeclkledHen · 06/09/2018 13:32

@SneakyGremlins me too 🤣🤣🤣

ShadyLady53 · 06/09/2018 13:33

Went to the Sherwood Forest one a few years ago. Was the first time ever of visiting swimming pools that I’d seen a pooey nappy just left lying open at the entrance way of the changing rooms. It was there for hours. I generally found it a very dirty place and I’d never return. Our (luxury!) cabin was filthy and stunk from the moment we opened the door and we complained almost everyday that it hadn’t been cleaned for our arrival and that one of the beds clearly hadn’t had its bedding changed. Nothing was done. On changeover day we saw a car-full of young teenage lads coming to clean the cabins and explained ours needed a deep clean before it was fit for the next guests and that there was a leak in the roofing that hadn’t been fixed all week. We just got blank stares and our complaints to CPs went in acknowledged. Would never go back!

ForalltheSaints · 06/09/2018 13:39

ShadyLady53 you should have involved the local environmental health team from the local council.

cheesefield · 06/09/2018 13:39

Too much traditional CP anal I reckon.

cheesefield · 06/09/2018 13:39

Dammit, I wasn't the first anal joke.

billybagpuss · 06/09/2018 13:42

This is nothing new, we haven’t been for 20 years or more and couldn’t use the pool at least twice for this reason on our last visit.

minisoksmakehardwork · 06/09/2018 13:44

We've achieved pool closure due to ds1 (when a tot) doing a loose poop unexpectedly. It leaked out of his swim nappy. Luckily we were only in the lagoon pool but I was utterly mortified. It was only a teeny leak but we couldn't just ignore it.

NicoAndTheNiners · 06/09/2018 13:48

Never seen this at CP.

Years ago dd did a poo in the pool at the gym, she was with the childminder not me so I am blame free in the situation! Grin. However gym shut the pool for 24 hours. I’d be a bit worried about going straight back in the pool at CP even once it’s been fished out........I’m probably being precious, guess people wee in there all day long and the chlorine kills the bacteria?

Plipplops · 06/09/2018 13:55

Disposable swim nappies are useless at holding in poo. I can't make the link work but get a Splash About Nappy Wrap and put a Splash About Happy Nappy on top (baby swimming teacher here, I don't work for Splash About!)

And yes Nico, as long as there are no lumps, if it's a solid log and you scoop that out the chlorine will deal with any bugs. Loose poo is a different matter though...

spiderrico · 06/09/2018 14:01

Last time my DD did this, we ended her birthday pool party early and made her drive home to change

InertPotato · 06/09/2018 14:09

You guys are hilarious. Grin

We were at Alton Towers a while back and the woman told me they clear the pool only for diarrhoea. I guess they have low standards.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 06/09/2018 14:09

spiderrico

I do hope she hadn't been drinking Wink

Butteredparsn1ps · 06/09/2018 14:16

Different holiday last week but same issue. Pool closed 2 days running. Second time was a child of around 11 at a guess, so not even the leaky nappy excuse.

Not a cheap holiday either.

Woofmy · 06/09/2018 14:18

I was in a super exclusive and posh (not allowed to even wear denim on the island GrinGrinGrinGrin) resort in the Bahamas when a poo was spotted in the pool.

It was literally like someone had spotted Freddie Cruger and he was waving a spray can full of the plague. GrinGrin

I was working before anyone thinks I'm stealth boasting.

FlipnTwist · 06/09/2018 14:23

I don't think kids should allowed in public pools til they have bowel control.Even if their shits are contained the nappy isn'twaterproof so the water is still contaminated.

MikeCheck12 · 06/09/2018 14:30

@FlipnTwist Me too. I swim regularly. If a kid wearing a nappy gets in, I leave. Ugh.
