Sorry in advance for the long post.
I work for a large well known transport company in a customer service role. Last year my dad was really ill, in hospital for 13 weeks and at one point almost died. Due to this I moved into a part time role.
My partner is signed off with mental health and physical issues, so I'm basically a carer for him and have become the driver for my mum and dad's household. (they're both over pension age and mum never learnt to drive, dad is now incapable)
Due to the new laws my partner had his PIP cut and we're currently appealing (which can take months). And due to this my tax credits have halved, and he has lost £350 a month so money is tight.
A new job came up at work, a really good job with hours that work around the various hospital appointments, school runs for DD (7) and other things I have to shoe horn into the week around my job. I knew it was a long shot (hardest job to get in the company) but I applied and I got it.
Until they sent me to the mandatory medical (it's a safety critical role) where I was informed that the tablets I've been on for years mean I can't do this job. Oddly I had checked this when I went for my yearly medical in may, during the application process, and had been told that they were fine. So they were acceptable in may but by August they restricted me from doing my (new) job.
So now I have to wait for weeks to get an appointment to see my specialist, get new blood tests done, make more medical appointments and wait to see if occupational health then send me fit to do the job.
On top of fighting the DWP for partner, running dad to all his appointments, taking mum out whenever she decides to go somewhere further away than three tube stops and doing all the running around associated with a 7 year old.
Oh and working.
And I haven't had a holiday in three years 😭
Aibu to have a mini pity party right now???
