To ask about hen parties

Does the bride usually pay for herself or do the hens pay for her?

Its costing £35 per person, and there is 11 including the bride. Do the hens pay £38.50 to cover the bride's cost, or just the £35 and the bride pays for herself?

Either way really
I'm expecting to pay for myself on mine

Confusedbeetle · 05/09/2018 15:48

And here is another reason Hen Parties are a diabolical idea. Then you will all have to shell out again for the wedding which will have a request list of gifts they don't need

MissCalamity · 05/09/2018 15:49

I think it's nice to pay for the bride, an extra £3.50 isn't going to break the bank. Just make sure everyone is happy with doing this though rather than just assuming! Grin

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 05/09/2018 15:52

I Agee with PP. for £3.50 extra I'd happily pay for the bride.

iLoveSpaDays · 05/09/2018 15:54

My hens paid for mine

Returnofthesmileybar · 05/09/2018 15:55

Yep for £3.50 I'd happily pay too

Lifespan · 05/09/2018 15:58

A cheap activity like this. Fine. I’d be happy to chip in.
Week in Marbella with drinks and activities, no way!
Hen dos are seen as such a big deal now.
I know someone who has had to delay TTC by 18 months because of hen do next summer.
The expectations upon people are ridiculous

Thelastredwinegum · 05/09/2018 16:01

I paid for my own but I also organised it Grin

MrsJayy · 05/09/2018 16:06

It is £3.50 each is hardly going to break the bank of course just pay it ☺ alot of hen dos seem to involve fullweekends away which imo the bride should pay for.

TheHonGalahadThreepwood · 05/09/2018 16:21

That seems like a pretty civilised cost (both the cost of the whole party and the little additional cost for the bride). I think brides are usually, though not always, paid for. I can't see most people minding for a tiny increase like that, especially when the party itself isn't going overboard.

Happinessisabook · 05/09/2018 17:48

Thanks all, I'll speak to the other hens and see if they mind the extra.
Didn't want to ask them if it was expected that the bride would pay for herself, but also didn't want to ask the bride in case that wasn't the done thing!
