Yes! We stayed in Sultanahmet, the hotel was called Faros Hotel. The breakfast provided from their restaurant was excellent, so good we had an evening meal here too.

The hotel is almost right opposite the Blue Mosque and is safe at night. I would really recommend the area as there's lots to do in the area.

We went to Taksim Sq, had a Turkish bath, done the cruise on the Bosphorus and visited the Blue Mosque.

There is honestly so much to do, the food, culture and whole feel of Istanbul is amazing and I would return in a heartbeat

I hope this helps!

The Empress Zoe. Incredible place. It’s a series of interconnected townhouses near the Hagia Sophia; beautifully furnished rooms, gorgeous garden, great views from the roof terrace.

We stayed at the Conrad in Besiktas, which is out of the city centre, but in a lovely location, and loved it. I adored Istanbul. As well as the astonishing museums and food, it was a lovely place to people watch and stroll around on the streets. Note, however, that this was before the current regime.

I went in June, loved it. Can post restaurant/café recommendations if you like. We stayed in a budget hotel in Beyoglu (modern bit). Great location near tram stop.

Thank you all - I have been looking at the Ajwa and the Amira hotel - did you see either?

A good few years ago but we stayed at the Arcadia Blue which was fabulous. Istanbul was amazing. We did Aggie Sofia, the Hippodrome and the Blue Mosque. A Bosporous cruise which stops in Asia for lunch. The Badilica Cistern which is breath-taking too and a good escape if it’s hot. The bazaar and a couple of museums. Oh and Topkapi Palace which is just amazing.
