To consider this for my YR 6 ds who will be starting to come home on his own - in the next few weeks in prep for secondary school.
We live in central London - his journey would be about 40 min door to door - 2 buses.
He has a phone that I could track but I am thinking satnav will be safer.
If you have one for you dc please give some pros and cons and also web links

Thanks

we use life 360 on DD's phone. it works a treat. good luck! (you can find life 360 on the app store- and both parent and child download it on their phones.)

A friend of mine uses Life 360 on her foster child's phone. She is much happier!

Absolute YANBU - I will do it with my DCs when they are old enough to go out! It’s a scary world out there :(

I don't see why it's necessary, unless you're wanting to spy on what they're doing? I mean they're about as likely to be abducted by aliens as they are by human beings statistically.

But I know I'm a bit of a heartless cow as I don't seem to worry about this stuff as much as many parents do. I would, though, say to think about what it means and how you'll use it in the longer run and make sure you don't use tracking tech to replace trust and discussion as they get older, as I fear that is a risk of these things and they become a bone of contention.

Thanks - sorry I wanted views on the watch type tracker rather than the phone - does anyone use this?
