So my DH has got a motorbike and spent all day, as in 13 hours yesterday (Saturday) out on his with his friend. And today, Sunday, he was out between 11-3 on it. I'm so fed up with it!!! I'm so bored!!! Oh I know I can sort my own life which I usually do, but I've have literally not seen him this weekend and all I've done is cleaned, shopped, washed and ironed. What is the point?? Back in work tomorrow for another week at work and then at the weekend it will probably be exactly the same. My plan for the weekend is to just leave the house at 8am and return at 9pm. Jesus swept, the kids won't have been fed and it definitely won't be any food in the fridge. Any thoughts? He can't understand why I'm annoyed with him. I swear I'm coming back as a woman in my next life!!!

How long has he had the bike for? Your plans for next weekend sound good.

DelilahandDaisy · 02/09/2018 19:18

Are they his kids? Yes I would get myself a hobby that took up as much time as his and leave him to get on with shopping/cleaning etc.

fontofnoknowledge · 02/09/2018 19:22

Get up early next Saturday and bugger off for the day. I did this years ago after a month of 'Boat faff fever' from my DH.

Breezed our the door and left him with 9 month old in the bed with him and a 6 & 7 yr old. Told him.. 'I'm busy today' ... a torrent of texts followed about not knowing how to do stuff... 🙄 he learned pretty damn quick.

Came home at 9pm.
He never did it again without prior consultation and equal shared down time.
The kids survived.. !

HollowTalk · 02/09/2018 19:25

Why on earth would he think you want to spend all weekend cleaning on your own, ffs?

Ordinarymamma · 02/09/2018 19:26

He's had the bike for a year now. He's very much like, when he finds something new he likes, it takes over his life. We've had countless arguments over this over the years. And yes, the kids are ours. The youngest one is 15, so it's not about staying in with them. I just feel a bit taken for granted I suppose. But I think I'm going to be childish and do what I said next weekend. Unannounced of course. I'll just tell him on the morning, just like he did to me.

Ok, so partly this is my fault. I have got a bit of OCD and want things (cleaning and shopping wise) done my way. So I suppose I've spoilt him in that way. But recently I've grown really bloody fed up with it. All I do is work, in a really stressful job I might add, and then clean. And clean. And clean!

Time to stop and literally get a life op! 🥂

HollowTalk · 02/09/2018 19:32

But if your youngest is 15, your husband will probably just go off on his bike again. I wouldn't expect the cleaning to be done unless you get him to agree to it beforehand.

Ordinarymamma · 02/09/2018 19:35

Hollow Talk, exactly, this is what I think will happen! So I'm clueless in what to do.

How would you like to spend your weekends? What did you do before he got his bike?

Ordinarymamma · 02/09/2018 19:42

I like to have one day of doing all the boring stuff, leaving one day to do nice things. Doing family stuff or going for a nice drive and then pub lunch. Or going on the bike with him! I love that.

He's a twat to go out both Sat and Sun. If he won't stop it then I suggest you start doing something for you.

What do you like to do?

Ordinarymamma · 02/09/2018 19:59

Hahaha a twat! Love that! I might call him that later, if I decide to speak to him today that is!!! Well I'm a very easily pleased. Actually I love staying at home, with him, doing stuff here. But that's gonna change! I've desperately googled hobbies today, but apart from starting knitting or starting a blog, which I would be shite at, there was no other suggestions. My job is quite stressful but pays ok. I've always, since being a child, wanted to be an air hostess. Not very well paid but maybe nows the time to do it hahaha!! Oh hiya darling, I'm having a fabulous time in New York, have you done the kids uniforms? I'd love to make that phone call!!!

Well why don't you look into booking a break in NYC?! Give you something to look forward to. Spend your weekends building your wardrobe for it Grin

Do you have any friends that would like to go or sis/sil? Why should DH have all the fun?

nellieellie · 02/09/2018 20:05

Can’t you hide his bike?

onetimeposter · 02/09/2018 20:09

Can you let down a tyre or something?

Ordinarymamma · 02/09/2018 20:16

Oh I'm loving all your ideas!! Although I wouldn't have a clue how to hide his bike.... I mean I could put it in the utility room, I could hide a hunky male in there and he would be clueless! But I would have no idea how to get it there!
