Should I have given the pizza to DD1 or 2?

I know this is so petty, but I'm just wondering. DD2 ordered me and her pizza as DD1 was out for dinner. I had some left over the next day and DD1 said can I have that, I said yes okay. Then DD2 got up and asked if there was any pizza left and I said oh I think DD1 had that, it was still in the fridge, so DD2 had it. DD2 now thinks I should be murdered lmao (okay slight exaggeration but yes, didn't go down well).

YANBU to have "leftover" pizza.

user139328237 · 02/09/2018 19:12

If DD2 paid it was really hers to choose what to do with. If you paid YWNBU.

Sunshine365 · 02/09/2018 19:14

I feel like you’ve mixed up DD1 and 2 somewhere in that story

eddyso · 02/09/2018 19:14

*DD1 thinks

DD2 bought it

It wasn't your pizza to give to either of them.

babbscrabbs · 02/09/2018 19:15

Was the leftovers from your half or hers?

Sunshine365 · 02/09/2018 19:16

Grin how long was there between DD1 and DD2 asking about the leftover pizza?

Trialsmum · 02/09/2018 19:17

It’s dd2’s pizza.

JustTheLemons · 02/09/2018 19:17

You didn’t pay for it so it wasn’t yours to give away.

Tell DD1 that DD2 ate the pizza as she paid for it, and that you are very sorry and you shouldn’t have she could have it as it wasn’t yours to give away. Tell her l that she can order her own pizza if she wants some.

CherryPavlova · 02/09/2018 19:18

It’s a hotbed of cold pizza so I really wouldn’t worry who ate it. It’s in the family fridge means it’s available unless someone has specifically said otherwise.
DS2 needs to get out more.

Allthatsnot · 02/09/2018 19:18

You have half a pizza (or 1 whole one) each, you are entitled to give away any left overs from your half/whole.
If DD2 didn't eat all hers they were hers to eat and you shouldn't have given them to DD1.

SaucyJack · 02/09/2018 19:19

TBH if they’re old enough to be ordering pizza themselves, I think they’re too old for you to be deciding who to give it to.

DD1 should’ve asked DD2 for it- or at least be taking the fallout if she’d helped herself.

thewinehasgonetomyhead · 02/09/2018 19:19

I don’t know but I really want a pizza now.

Kpo58 · 02/09/2018 19:27

They are both unreasonable. Why would anyone want to eat congealed day old pizza? Envy

Userplusnumbers · 02/09/2018 19:29

I just read as DD1 asked an OP said yes, presumably without directing to DD2, so she was just doing the normal thing. It was OP who should have said to check in with the owner.

Nothisispatrick · 02/09/2018 19:30

I would be absolutley murderous if someone ate my leftover pizza without asking me

Twotailed · 02/09/2018 19:33

Weird rule - presumably you don’t have a non-family fridge, so where else is someone supposed to put their food that they have bought?

itbemay · 02/09/2018 19:33

Family fridge so family food. DDis always leaving leftover pizza/Chinese that she paid for and we all go for it next day! She’s used to it, and she is same if out and we order takeout.

amusedbush · 02/09/2018 19:34

DD2 bought it so it wasn’t yours to give away.

I be furious if someone took my leftovers.

Madein1995 · 02/09/2018 19:34

DD2 is unreasonable and quite petty I think. You had some leftover, so presumably no one was desperate for it, so why not give to dd1?

As for ownership. It's pizza not the Crown jewels 😂 it'd have been pretty selfish of dd2 not to offer dd1 anyway if there was some left. You're a family. Families share food. The whole mn thing of 'my chocolate bar and mine only!' seems really weird to me

Tell dd2 to get a grip, and if she's still hungry, to eat Some crisps

amusedbush · 02/09/2018 19:36

Family fridge so family food.

So if someone buys a fancy cake as a treat and they put it in the fridge for later that evening, it’s fair game for anyone in your family to take and the owner doesn’t get to complain? That’s fucking weird.

Thatssomebadhatharry · 02/09/2018 19:36

Wtf is leftover pizza?!

BarbaraofSevillle · 02/09/2018 19:36

What happened between DD1 asking if she could have some pizza and DD2 eating it so DD1 didn't get any?

I think DD2 should have had it and DD1 should have something else or buy her own pizza. Did DD1 bring leftover dinner home to share with you and DD2? Doesn't sound like it.

Madein1995 · 02/09/2018 19:37

'check in with the owner' 😂 it's pizza, they're a family, there should be on 'checking in' for someone to eat a few pieces of pizza. Dd2 is being especially petty I think
