My sister has come out of a terrible relationship with a manipulative arsehole. He will be facing prison shortly (just to give you an idea about how shitty he is).
She wants to dip her toe into dating again. I am the ever so over protective sister who wants to make sure she is ok! I have not been on a date for years though, I have no idea how dating works now.
OLD scares the crap out of me as my sister is quite a vulnerable person and she could be taken advantage of. She is mentioning speed dating? Might be a good, low pressure approach? She doesn’t want a boyfriend but, as her ex was her first and only, she has never really been on a date and feels she would like to just meet new people, with a view to being open to more. She is not a casual sex kind of person. I only mention this as I’ve read that some online dating sites are geared towards sex and that isn’t what she wants.
This feels an impossible mission.
Please can someone advise on which OLD sites to avoid and what speed dating might be like for someone who is quite vulnerable? I am trying to step back but after what she has been through it is really hard because I love her and never want to let her get this hurt again.
Any tips??
