The mini pill- bleeding- worried

Just that really. I’ve been bleeding constantly for 2.5 weeks now- not heavy (2 tampons a day) but it’s showing no sign of letting up.

I would be less worried if I had only just started taking it but I’ve been taking it for more than a year. I’ve had some erratic bleeding in that time (and also some spells of no periods at all) but this seems to be the worst spell of bleeding.

How worried should I be? I’m debating going to see the docs in case it’s something sinister

I last had a smear test January 2017 so a little while ago....

Or is it just the pill and it’s time to switch...although I have no idea what my options would be - combined pill gives me headaches; I also tried the coil but it perforated my uterus and I had to have it removed via keyhole surgery so no one please suggest this!

Any experience?

I used to take cerazette and stopped because of this.

I know someone who also stopped for the same reason

Probably TMI but it was old blood that was I passing

I wonder what the significance of that is? Mine is a mixture of old and new. Did you have this even when you had been taking it a while? I was led to believe the bleeding was supposed to “calm down” after a while.

Bumping for traffic

I started it 5 months ago and on my 4th strip started a constant ‘period’ for 5 weeks - it’s just letting up. But I went to the nurse last week who told me it’s completely normal. As part of explaining it she did say it can happen after a year. She promised it would always stop :) I wouldn’t worry but if you are I’d see a nurse who should reassure you.

I came off the mini pill because I was just bleeding whenever, sometimes I'd have a pre-period before my actual heavy period, sometimes I'd have no period at all. It drove me mad. I don't think I ever bled for 2 weeks straight though. I would talk to the doctor!
