Offering me a free iPhone for answering a few questions. Apparently 12000 other people have answered the questions and been sent iPhones and t shirts. Was I too cautious for my own good, should I have been bold and brave and clicked .

Please don't reply if you are posting on your brand new iPhone that you were given free for answering a few questions...."

Of course you were right to ignore it.

What is your common sense telling you?
Is any company going to give 12000 people a free £1000 pound phone just for answering a couple of questions? Hmm

CoughLaughFart · 01/09/2018 19:31

You also haven’t won £1,000,000 from Reader’s Digest.

Hello Dear, I am a Prince from Africa and I would like your Help in getting ££LOTS away From a Corrupt and Undeserving Government and into the Hands of poor Orphans. I have prayed and God told me You are the One to assist. Please send me your Bank details.

Hey, worth a try, right?

viques · 01/09/2018 20:16

I know, I know. But just for a moment..... The problem is my firewall is too good so anything that does get through makes me think, mmmmmmmmm maybe it is the gods of chance shining down on me! Though I know it isn't really.

You on the other hand Library Miss didn't fool me for a second, if you want to be a proper scammer you should not be so good at spelling. Assist with only three s's ! Government not Goverment!

Damn! My cunning plan has failed! I thought the random caps would do it.

Sparklesocks · 01/09/2018 21:14

If it sounds to good to be true, it is!
Why would a market research company offer a free iPhone for a few questions? Think how many iPhones they’d have to give away. It has no cost effectiveness at all. Always good to trust your gut on these things.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/09/2018 21:24

You could've got a free T-Shirt though.......................... (and you can bet your life -if it did arrive- you'd be a walking advert for the company)

LyndorCake · 01/09/2018 21:31

You know, it's funny. I received an email the other day from my long lost Nigerian cousin who happens to be a price. It's so sad because his enemies are after his money so he needed somewhere secure to transfer it and he suggested my bank account. All I needed to do was provide him with all my bank details and I'd be rich. He said he didn't mind me spending some of his cash to thank me.
Who knew!

viques · 01/09/2018 21:38

I wasn't interested in the t shirt, as you say it was all logo ed (one of the 12000 had put up a picture) and I don't wear things with words or pictures on .

If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
