Not sure how this is going to be recieved and generally I am a serious lurker! But mn keeps me sane hence why I have decided to just bloody go for it!!!

I am seriously p**d off!! I have spent the day consoling and trying to explain to dd the true meaning of friendship and that aslong as she is being true to herself and respectful of others then she will be a good person/friend. She is very upset because she has not been invited to a bday party for a girl on our block who she is very good friends with. And I mean there together everyday, the friend stays over for dinner etc. And just coming off the holidays trust me this little one spent ALOT of time with us!!

I understand that she maybe was only planning on having a small party and simply could not invite dd and perhaps others for this reason. In a situation like this should mum/dad not explain to there dd on how to pass this info onto their other friends? Perhaps a simple oh I am having a little party on Saturday I am sorry that I cannot take you but I can meet up with you after and take you a piece of cake!

Is it not our responsibilty to set a good example to our children, atleast steer them in the proper direction? Or am I really an alien?
