To not go out?

My lodger has arranged for a mutual friend to come and visit from London (we are in the north) to go on a night out later. He will still go out with her.

However earlier in the week I got vertigo and I'm suffering quite a bit; I feel really dizzy and headache-y and the tablets I'm on make me really drowsy. I've had a busy week and just want to get an early night.

Wibu to just go for dinner and then leave?

If you have vertigo its safer not to go out at all, you can randomly fall over, and travelling could make you feel sick.

I'd stay in. You'd benefit more from a decent night's sleep and not overdoing it. And it is your lodger's arrangement so even though it's a mutual friend you're not letting anyone down. If you're on medication for it then it's not like they're going to think you're making excuses. And vertigo does make you feel crap.

i would just explain your situation, and stay in. hopefully they will understand, and you will be able to go out with them some other time.
