They are only worth what someone else is willing to pay. Look on eBay for what they are selling for. They won't be selling for much tbh, unless they are uncirculated, pristine condition.

As Whats suggests look on eBay. Depending on the coin and character and condition some are worth up to £10 per coin.

SendintheArdwolves · 28/08/2018 15:34

There's no "official" value for them - it's just what a coin collector is prepared to pay. Often the press reports vastly inflated amounts for things like this ("it's thought these rare coins could be worth up to ten thousand pounds" and other such weasely phrases) but that is rarely backed up by evidence of actual transactions.

SendintheArdwolves · 28/08/2018 15:38

Oh, and also don't be fooled by the prices on auctions which were ended by the seller - that means no one actually paid the amount they were asking for.

You can have them valued at specialist auction houses - it usually free. Be aware there are different classes of coins though so mint uncirculated start out at best, circulated rarely fetch much UNLESS there is say a known fault in production. Other than that ebay isn't a bad guide although there is the occasional blip but bear in mind costs will take into account fees and paypal feels etc so are prob a bit on the higher side.

Warwick & Warwick are one auction house that do free valuations www.warwickandwarwick.com/departments/coin-auctions
