To think she IS influenced by them

I spoke to a friend about the nip+fab offer this weekend. Personally I've had great results with their products, and she's into all things skincare so I thought she would be interested.

She said she wouldn't go near 'that stuff'.

When I asked why (thinking it was going to have something awful in it, or there would be some horrible unethical stuff going on) she went on a total rant about why was I allowing myself to be influenced by the Kardashians, and that she would never buy it because nip+fab pay them to promote it and her money isn't going to them.

Now I had no idea that the Kardashians had anything to do with promoting the products. I'm not really into the celeb thing.

So when I said that she was by far more influenced by them, as she was choosing not to buy a great product purely based on that. I was by buying it not knowing they promoted it and so they played no part in my decision.

She took a huff with me and I suspect we would have had another story for the flounce off thread had it basically been impractical for her to do that. (live rurally, miles from home, I was driving)

So mumsnet jury wibu to point that out?

(full disclosure - she's now laughing at her huffiness as it was a daft thing to get huffy about, so all is well)

I think in the big scheme of it, neither of you was U, you just disagreed.

I had no idea about the Kardashians, I bought some of their stuff from TK Maxx and quite like it.

She sounds like hard work. I tend to just nod and smile when people rant at me, but I suppose there’s nothing wrong with dishing it straight back to her.

I use their stuff and had no idea that they advertised it.
