I’ve heard of ‘slime’ lunch clubs, businesses, half the kids I know are obsessed and it treated as a worthy hobby.... I just don’t get it!!

  • it’s about three ingredients, not a science experiment
-squishing a bit is the limit of play
  • people think you’ll be excited for the kids to be given some to grind into carpets or clothing

What am I missing????

I don't get it either. Glad my DC are too old for it. I saw huge posters in WH Smiths last week and all I could think was that it was a marketing ploy by the glue manufacturers.

Y are so NBU. I frigging hate the stuff. Took me months to find something that took the red blotch off the bathroom floor from the slime DS made a school. Actually he made it for a school fete then bought it. So I paid for my own DC to ruin the house.

Today DD has got it stuck to the duvet. I distinctly asked my DM that it was not to come into my house. It was smuggled in.

I have never felt slime, I like Playdoh and other things since I have problems with my hands and it helps a lot, but I have never touched slime and I don't think I would want to.

Nottotheirstandards · 26/08/2018 12:47

Blind. How did you get it out? I have a blue patch on my rug Hmm

Cheesymonster · 26/08/2018 12:49

We have some stuck to DD's duvet cover and it's unfortunately brown. Would lobe to know how to get it out!

Cheesymonster · 26/08/2018 12:49

*love to know, sorry

KC225 · 26/08/2018 12:52

Worst craze ever. Come back Loom Bands all is forgiven and I have new hoover bags.

MaggieAndHopey · 26/08/2018 12:55

Well, you're not 8 presumably, so I don't think you're the core slime demographic.

I do wonder what will happen to manufacturers of PVA glue, saline solution and shaving gel when this craze inevitably dies. Maybe they had to employ more people to cope with the sudden massively increased demand and now they'll all be laid off, like people in the fidget spinner and loom band factories.

Sounds horrible stuff! YANBU. Thankfully my own dc are adults now but I remember the horridness of playdoh stuck to carpets and sofas and at the time we had a fluffy deep pale blue carpet.....spent lots of hours picking out pink playdoh crumbs Hoover didn't get up.

BlindAssassin1 · 26/08/2018 13:32

Nottotheirstandards Nail varnish remover of the bathroom floor, its not a wooden floor though.

No idea yet about the duvet! Some scrubbing maybe, hot wash? Some concoction or other of soda crystals and vinegar? Brand new bedding too!

Not as bad as my little DB many years ago getting gum in his hair and all over the seat belt. Vile.

Thanks blind
