To think that Michelle is an immoral person

She spent her whole time at high school avoiding Sandy and treating him with total contempt but as soon as she and Romy find out he's really rich suddenly they're all over him (doing the most ridiculous dance).

Yes I know IABU by posting this but this was my teen film, the one which I would watch and fantasize about sticking two fingers up to the bullies.

Now as an adult thinking about the film and its message that good people 'come out on top', well Michelle and Romy aren't good people. So now what is the message? Be an immoral person because that will get you everywhere?

I've never met a nice Michelle! I'm sure there are some out there somewhere but they've never appeared in my life. Just sayin!😉

I loved this as a teen yet when I watched it recently I cringed so badly I had to turn it off! Has not aged well at all.

I've seen the film but can't remember a single thing about it, other than either Romy or Michelle was played by Lisa Kudrow and a small snippet of a scene where one of them says "... at least we didn't get fat" to a gaggle of ultra skinny women with bumps, looking like snakes who ate a goat, to the which the gaggle reply "we're not fat, we're pregnant". I can't remember any plot at all.

I haven't watched it in years but I remember them claiming to have invented post it notes.

I know that film is supposed to be ironically great in a Napoleon Dynamite sort of way, but I always hated it. Just all shallow idiots.

Yeah, Michelle was a cow to Sandy. Romy though got some nice revenge on that arsehole Billy.

I've only ever met one Michelle and she is one of the worst people I've e ever met.

I know a Romy, up until that film she was the only Romy I'd ever heard of. She is one of the sweetest people I know. I've met lots of Michelles and they have been as diverse in personality as any other name. Marys, on the other hand, are universally kind and helpful.

It was a fun film but definitely of its time. That scene where Romy loudly pretends to have sex with Ramone just to borrow a car, with his co-workers listening outside - eek...

What film are you all talking about? None of this means anything to me and I'm wondering if I've missed out somewhere and should go watch it.

I know one Michelle and she’s a complete bitch. I’m sure there’s plenty of nice ones though. 😄

I love that film for all its faults. When Romy, Michelle and Sandy dance to Time after Time, I have myself a happy moment.

They are both shallow and as thick as very thick mince, but I love it anyway.
