Was I being unreasonable telling my colleague?

There's a new colleague who has started. We work for a cleaning company and she has been here a month now. She's absolutely terrible at cleaning! She is lazy as well. We've shown her what to do and how to do it but she can't seem to get it into her head. We have to do regular deep cleans and when I went to check a room, it has not even been touched and the toilet had shit all over it. We told the supervisor before and they have told her as well but again, she doesn't seem to "get" it?

She said she had thoroughly cleaned it and I said but you haven't? Then she proceeded to sulk and say what are you on about? Then she walked out after I said go and have a look! I don't think she bothered. I said I'm telling you now so you don't get in trouble when the office opens on Tuesday! I didn't mean to come across nasty but she has been shown and told so many times and it's us that gets into trouble if we are on that same floor the next day

I never usually tell people anything and I never but today just really annoyed me because I have to take twice as long to clean up her mess that she should've cleaned in the first place. As usual, she sulked like a petulant child as well instead of accepting that she didn't do it properly! I'm trying not to feel guilty Shock

She doesnt give a crap. She needs sacking.

She sounds as if she'd been given every chance by you. Protect yourself against repercussions, report upward to your line manager -- she's clearly not going to last much longer.

Why feel guilty?

If she’s leaving excrement on the loo then she’s doing a rubbish job. Tell your boss what you’ve said here. You’re looking after your own job, not dobbing her in.
