Apparently the snack options are no good in this house. Im sick of being moaned at tbh that there is nothing/nothing nice to eat
There is plenty
-apples
-bananas
-toast
-biscuits (ok they are quite plain but still nice)
-little fromage frais pots
-cheese
-crackers
-grapes
-cereal bars
-crisps
-veg sticks and houmous

How is that not good enough ???? I’m sick of finding dc searching through it all moaning there’s nothing nice and being grumpy

Can I come and live with you? Smile sounds great. Kids can be unreasonable sometimes.

formerbabe · 25/08/2018 21:14

Poor things...go get them some pick and mix!

Carbootcookie · 25/08/2018 21:15

I asked them what they actually want ....? The response was ‘I don’t know’and ‘something nice’

What they mean is they want some sweets and crisps, YANBU at all, that snack selection is good

AvaLove · 25/08/2018 21:15

How old are the moaners?

delilahbucket · 25/08/2018 21:17

Popcorn, soreen bars (banana ones go down well here), flapjack, nuts. Graze boxes go down well too. I buy them in bulk direct from Graze.

11 and 16

DS2 has just begun this game of "I'm hungry, what can I have" every ten minutes. I can't tell if it's boredom or genuine growing-12-year-old hunger but he's forever rooting through the fridge and cupboards moaning "you need to go shopping again" 24 hours after we last went.

missyB1 · 25/08/2018 21:39

My 9 year old is constantly asking for snacks, but he is very sporty and active and burns loads of calories. He likes soreen bars, Alpen bars, and popcorn.

Carbootcookie · 25/08/2018 21:46

We have Alpen bars, nine bars and coco pops bars. Maybe I’ll try the soreen mini loaves.
Just feel they are being a bit ungrateful turning noses up at everything

Try not buying snacks at all for a week. That'll show them what side their bread's buttered!

AdaColeman · 25/08/2018 22:21

Take all the snacks away for a month, see how they get on. Serve soup and bread with meals instead to fill them up.

When my kids pulled this nonsense I told them they should be damn grateful for everything we have (which is a lot compared to do many), and if I heard ONE MORE WORD there would be hell to pay. No internet, no phones, no tv. I simply can not abide anyone being so ungrateful.
