To think the school setup is ridiculous?

DS started back at school on Monday, he is in primary 3 and his class is mixed with the Primary 4s. He is just turning 7. DH has been taking him all week as I've been working and mentioned his class go in the "middle" playground. It has since transpired that they are expected to enter and exit through the middle playground but play in the infants playground, halfway around the school! AIBU to think this is a ridiculous setup because a) they will probably make friends within their class but won't be able to socialise with some of them during break and lunch, and b) it's daft to expect primary 3 kids to walk halfway around the school to their class at every break?

I don’t see it as an issue to be honest.

A) Non issue
B) unless they have mobility issues this isn’t a problem.

I can’t see the problem to be honest. Our p3 children are with the older ones, and I’d rather they were still with the younger ones. DS2 has already been knocked to the ground by a football in his face twice and we’re only a week in!

Tough on kids with walking difficulties, but otherwise not an issue.

I don’t think yabu if they’re in a composite class then they should be allowed to stay and play with their classmates rather than separating them. Also why should they lose part of their lunch and playtime moving to a different part of the school.
