They gave me a temp job

Long story short, I’m currently working for an agency on a temporary 3 month contract - because of this instability, I’m working 2 jobs (60 hours per week).

I’ve applied for a permanent job elsewhere (same position as my temp job). I’ve had my interview and they’ve offered me a job.

But a temporary job. I applied for a permanent position, but apparently 2 permanent positions came out after 2 temporary positions. At my interview, I was told that they had lumped everyone together and were filling the 4 vacancies.

They’re aware of my situation and the fact I have 2 jobs because of the temporary thing.

I applied for a permanent position which would mean I’d be able to leave my second job but they’ve offered me a temporary job.

AIBU to be a bit miffed? I’m just gutted cos I really hoped I’d get it and I obviously made a good impression because they wouldn’t of offered a job otherwise.

I don’t know how much longer I can go working 60 hour weeks

I'm confused. Why does your new job offer have to be permenant in order for you to stop doing the additional temporary job?

I would say how disappointed you are as you applied for a permanent position and are unable to accept a temp position. They may reconsider if they really want you.

If you don't want the job don't take it. I'm not sure what else you can do. It sounds like they had two more suitable candidates for the permanent positions. Combining the interviews sounds lazy tbf not a good first impression!

The reason I can’t drop the second job is that it’s too risky to just drop my permanent part time job. I’m doing that as a back up in case the temporary contract isn’t renewed.

But the temporary contract is in the in the field I’m qualified in so I’m trying to get into it full time and permanent.

So I’ve applied for an identical position that is at another venue and the same role as my current temporary. It meant I would be able to get rid of both my current jobs and just go permanent in the field I’m qualified in.

But they have called and said they’ll give me a temporary contract. So now I’m like, well I’m no better off
