We are booked to go tomorrow, have a 12 year old son. It's quite frightening out there right now but husband and son determined to go. Insurance company say no refund as its not within 50 miles of Lombok. I say no but I'm in the minority here.

Why is it frightening out there?

Alpacanorange · 21/08/2018 20:21

What are the effects on the place you are going ?

mimibunz · 21/08/2018 20:22

You are definitely in the minority. Why are you scared?

cariadlet · 21/08/2018 20:23

Bali's lovely. It's not that close to Lombok. I'd still go if I were you.

DickensianHysteric · 21/08/2018 20:24

I wouldn't go, sorry, but I'm terrified at the thought of being in an earthquake. I'd imagine it's a lot of money to lose though.

MsOliphant · 21/08/2018 20:25

What is frightening? If you're not near Lombok Confused

Ijumpedtheshark · 21/08/2018 20:25

Yes.

UtterlyDesperate · 21/08/2018 20:26

The earthquakes? I understand your concerns, and I am usually pretty gung ho. That said, your insurance say you are covered, and the rest of the family want to go - I think I'd go ahead, personally.

Shoeshelpplease · 21/08/2018 20:28

Friends out there have been terrified with the after shocks and risk of tsunami. I feel a bit Irresponsible taking my son into an area so close to a disaster zone. Many uk people on the island are flying back so it feels a bit crazy to be flying in!
