I'm 40, single and have a three and a half year old daughter and am pregnant with my second. I know it's not for everyone but at 36 I decided to go for it and have a baby on my own. Greatest decision I ever made. I wanted to be a pretty more than I wanted a relationship, and I'm very lucky to have family support. There are options, don't think you can't be a parent because you are single xx

Camsie30, sorry for sounding stupid, but how exactly did you go about doing it in your own? What's involved? Just wondering if it could be an option for me!

I had my dd when I was 40, and have know three mums who have had a baby at 43,48 and 51 all conceived without fertility treatment.

@chezare84 I used an anonymous sperm donor, imported from the US. With my daughter I had IUI (insemination) and this time IVF with the same donor (I had some frozen and stored). My advice would be to go and speak to a fertility doctor to get some advice on options and have your fertility tested so you know where you are...
