I am terrified of needles and have heard horror stories.

I had the implant taken out before we started TTC, found it totally fine and easier than having it put in certainly. It only took the nurse a few minutes to remove it, which felt a little weird but totally painless. Healing for me was easier than having it put in as there was less bruising.

I hate needles however the worst bit is actually the numbing injection. After that I felt absolutely nothing. Had another put in at the same time.

From a fellow needlephobic to another, you'll be fine!

I hated my implant, yes there were zero periods but I went up by 15kg. Having it removed was painless. The most amazing thing was that I instantly started feeling better mentally too - almost as if the implant suppressed my emotions and I didn't realise till it was out

I had mine out recently- it was fine! Arm numbed, couldn't feel a thing. Kept the bandage on the recommended 3 days or whatever and it was hardly even bruised when it came off. I found having it put in much worse - massive bruise and uncomfortable for a week or so.

DragonScales did you lose the weight you put on? I feel horrible and sluggish

I've had two out. They clean it. Numb it. Small incision that you can't feel. Bit of wiggling and pulling and out. Butterfly stitches plaster and keep dry for 24 hours.

Easy =]

I had mine out last week. Doesn't really hurt to be honest and I'm on a strict diet to lose the three stones I've gained. Also awaiting the dreaded return of af as it's been three years 😭

You'll be fine

Thanks for all the replies! I'm so nervous I feel so stupid. I think it's just the thought more than anything, I can feel it and its really prominent in my arm so I hope it's easy to get out!

I had had mine taken out not long after it went in because it was absolutely hideous and made me bleed none stop and lose my libido. So it was going through fresh scar tissue and probably hurt more than an older one would/was harder to remove. I didn’t give a fuck at the time though, I was glad to have the fucker out.
