hi just really wanting a hand hold and to vent.

On the 11th of July my dd 5 had an eye test due to slight headaches and it was due. They found optic nerve swelling so she was sent to hospital were they sent her for a mri which was clear but the headaches got worse so she was seen my a eye doctor who said keep in touch and checked on her pretty often. This Monday she got really unwell with headaches and sickness and was very sleepy. I called her doctor who said was going to talk to neurologist. On Tuesday I got a call from them they wanted to bring her in for a lumber puncture under ga. afterwards we were told she had Intracranial pressure and they got it down and got samples. She was discharged that evening. On Friday she got really unwell with sickness and headaches and then I couldn’t wake her up:( she was rushed to hospital while doctors were all around her. She started to get better on the ward and she stayed one night. While she was there her doctor told us they found some cells in her csf that they’re not happy with and will need further testing which we will get the results in two weeks and they might want to redo mri ( under contrast) and lumbar puncture if the optic nerve hasn’t gone down. She has still got headaches and sickness and just not herself. I said to her let’s go to soft play she didn’t want to nor does she want to do anything

Not very mumsnet, but hugs for you OP. Have they said they can do anything until the test results? If you’re not happy and she’s not herself, don’t be afraid to take her back. She’s 5 and couldn’t be woken. If you have ANY doubts, take her back to hospital. Hope she’s ok.

edinburghlass1991 · 19/08/2018 23:39

No the think the headaches etc just now are due to her getting used to normal pressure. I will call on Tuesday if she’s not any better but if she’s gotten worse I will take her to a and e that’s the plan

Ah op, that's crap. Be brave mummy and even behind the scenes put on tiger mum face - it's fine to brick it but ask questions and get answers. Don't panic - knowledge is power. Flowers

My dd will never see worry nor my sadness of this.

So sorry you're going through this.
Push as much as you need to and utilise A&E if she's struggling. Might they be able to test sooner?
