Disappointing cheat day meal

Nononono0000 · 19/08/2018 20:44

NC because I know this is a ridiculous non issue & genuinely not sure if I'm the idiot in this situation after the response I got..

So, cheat day, been trying and doing really well with the diet I'm on so was really looking forward to a big ole cheeseburger.

Ordered online, requested no salad with/ on the burger and chips yet received a completely plain burger. Rang the takeaway as I'd paid more for a cheese one and that's not what had been delivered, after being shouted/ rambled at for about a minute for wasting the persons time on the phone and for apparently complaining over nothing he finally explained that as I'd opted for no salad that also meant no cheese on the burger also and then hung up.

Surely I'd have ordered and paid less for a regular, plain burger if that's what I'd wanted? AIBU to request a refund and leave them a crap review (mainly for the rude service)?

You requested no salad not no cheese so no, YANBU.

Thehop · 19/08/2018 20:47

YANBU

MatildaTheCat · 19/08/2018 20:48

Utterly U. You got what you ordered.

Who exactly are you cheating on your cheat days? Confused

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 19/08/2018 20:49

Nothing worse than when you allow yourself a cheat day and someone fucks it up.
YANBU

MrsJayy · 19/08/2018 20:49

Eh how can no salad mean no cheese on a cheeseburger ridiculous man and because you are so hangry you should leave a below average review on the just eat page.

Reminds me of the time i had been ill but fancied a bag of chips asked for brown sauce got tomato and no pickled onion thought my world had ended Grin

MyDcAreMarvel · 19/08/2018 20:50

No Matila op ordered a plain cheeseburger not a plain hamburger.

y0rkier0se · 19/08/2018 20:51

I asked for a plain cheeseburger at McDonald’s once about 15 years ago and received one with no cheese. I cried but I was hormonal Grin

MyDcAreMarvel · 19/08/2018 20:52

Worst takeaway experience I had was 7 hours after giving birth ( left the hospital after six hours) I ordered a fish, chips and peas meal and they put gravy on it. I cried.

gamerchick · 19/08/2018 20:52

Can you not just stick some placky cheese on it, that's all it is anyway?

MrsJayy · 19/08/2018 20:54

Oo reminds me I was longterm hospital pregnant with dd2 asked dh to bring me up a mcchicken sandwich opened the bag it was a big mac I burst into tears Blush

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 19/08/2018 20:54

One of my clearest childhood memories is Friday night Chinese takeaway.
I ordered special fried rice with sweet n sour sauce.
No fucking sweet n sour sauce.
I wept

FrayedHem · 19/08/2018 20:57

YANBU.
I ordered a plain quarter pounder with cheese and they thought I meant without the burger either - just the bun with cheese. Fortunately they did check with me first.

Nononono0000 · 19/08/2018 21:13

Thanks for all the replies (maybe not matildas though if you don't know what a cheat day is/ want to question them Confused...)

Thought I was maybe BU as was pretty taken aback by how angry the chap on the phone was!

Know it's nothing in the grand scheme of things but was a bit gutted like Grin

BabySharkDooDooDooDoo · 19/08/2018 21:21

Clue is in the name.... CHEESEburger

Nononono0000 · 19/08/2018 21:22

@gamerchick no cheese in and heck, I spent almost an quid extra for that takeaway placky cheese!

Peoples take away fails and how disappointed they were has definitely lifted my spirits Grin was feeling a bit down after getting called an idiot over the phone

QOD · 19/08/2018 21:23

I ordered a kfc fillet burger with no lettuce just mayo ... and got just that
A bun with mayo in it. NO FUCKING CHICKEN!

BuntyII · 19/08/2018 21:24

Once I ordered garlic and chilli beef and got Szechuan chicken instead. I was FUMMING HUN!! That was 13 years ago and I still haven't got over it.

gamerchick · 19/08/2018 21:26

@gamerchick no cheese in and heck, I spent almost an quid extra for that takeaway placky cheese!

I know, it just sounded like such an unhappy burger there has to be something to cheer it up in your fridge Grin

It's probably the pre program in the till. They just press buttons and robot the instructions like drones.

IHaveBrilloHair · 19/08/2018 21:29

Since when is salad cheese?
They are wronger than wrong

LockedOutOfMN · 19/08/2018 21:30

YANBU, what a disappointment. Ring back and ask them to deliver what you ordered.

If they won't do that, keep contacting them until you get a refund, give them a poor review (the mistake is unfortunate, but the poor customer service is inexcusable), and for now I hope you have some cheese at home you can add to make the burger more delicious, otherwise something else like sauce, chilli flakes, etc.

theunsure · 19/08/2018 21:35

@IHaveBrilloHair

If Salad were the same as Cheese I’d be skinny...

OP, I’d be livid too, I can cry over food. Slate them all you can! They could have so easily put it right!

Nothisispatrick · 19/08/2018 21:41

It’s awful when people get your food wrong.

I am 33 weeks pregnant, home alone and exhausted. Ordered pizza, spent 20 mins directing delivery guy to my house over the phone, and the potato wedges are completely uncooked. They’re solid. I have put them in the oven to try and fix them.

BreconBeBuggered · 19/08/2018 21:48

OMG, hellish.

Still recovering from a visit to a new takeaway after a long journey last week. Chinese, but no numbers on the menu. DH's chicken with pineapple and ginger somehow got confused with my order of satay vegetables, and I got a bunch of pineapple in my dinner. I loathe fruit in savoury dishes. DH eats so fast he barely noticed.

9amTrain · 19/08/2018 21:50

Cheese is not salad and you ordered a cheeseburger. Yanbu. They're fucking dicks who don't know how to run a takeaway.

IceCreamFace · 19/08/2018 22:00

YANBU definitely leave a bad review. Obviously a cheeseburger with no salad doesn't mean no cheese!
