I am really torn about some work stuff and would really appreciate some external perspective. I'm employed by a central department and allocated out to one big department 100% of my time - I work across that department with a range of managers to help and have built up a really good relationship with some of them. I'm on a fixed term contract at work that has been extended twice and my appraisal was really positive with good feedback from all the managers.
Now there has been some sort of power play between senior management (as far as I can work out) and I'm being withdrawn from that department which is not only personally gutting for me it also means by fixed term contract is unlikely to be renewed again. I caught up with one of the managers in the department and she said she was really upset I was not going to be working with her as I had produced such good results and why hadn't I told her.I said I'd been a bit upset about the whole thing and she looked really surprised- she had been told I had applied for an internal job that I had got.
This is clearly the spin the senior management are putting on it - there might be a slight chance she could put a chase for me to still do some work for her (they are hitting a tricky busy time) but it could get backs up if it gets out. WWYD?
