So here goes....

Hi all,

My 13 month old has been walking for about 5/6 weeks now and we'd like to get him his first pair of shoes now he has the hang of things.

I'm aware this is probably a stupid question but I'd appreciate your help!

What type of shoes do I go for? We are going to get him measured at Clark's, but do we buy hard soled shoes? Or "cruisers" (what even are cruisers!?)

Help!

Congratulations to the new walker :). To keep him developing dealing he's bare foot as much as possible. Obviously not an option in the park so go for something flexible which won't get in the way too much. Bobux Origin Explorer are good. Start-rite have some nice shoes too. Slipper socks are perfect for in between shoes and socks (although not an option if there might be something sharp on the floor). Don't overspend as they'll constantly need new ones!

Honestly as long as you don't go for stilettos your kid will be fine!

dealing = ideally

Thank you!

Yeah, he'll ONLY be wearing them when we're outdoors. I want him to be comfy inside, at home so it'll be bare foot or socks!

I've been looking online and "cruisers" seem to be "pre walkers" so wasn't sure they were suitable.

Hopefully I'll get more info at the fitting tomorrow.

Thank you

I was wondering this when first getting some shoes for my daughter, we went to clarks and they were very good, we got her some 'Doodles' which are a little softer than 'first shoe' range

I'll have a look online at those @chicken2015 thanks!
