To think this company are trying to put customers off using them?

Googling for companies who can come survey a log burner in a house we are buying and found this site:

rude stove co

I think the message or instructions they want to get across are hidden by rudeness and a really shit attempt at humor. How can a company even trade if they are this crap at speaking to customers?

😂😂😂

Made me laugh a lot! But fuck, no, I wouldn't use them.

loubeylou68smellsofreindeerpoo · 16/08/2018 21:13

I think they are clearly laying out their expectations and what you can expect

peachgreen · 16/08/2018 21:15

I totally disagree - I find that kind of practical honesty really refreshing and would feel very comfortable that I was going to get fair service and a reasonable deal. So much so that I don't even mind if you're secretly a member of their team drumming up business. Wink

NapQueen · 16/08/2018 21:17

Well im not Grin.

I get that they want to lay out their expectations. But a wall of "dont do this, lock away your dog, expect me to be late" isnt a great first impression.

GoblinSharts · 16/08/2018 21:18

Oh I thought it was quite refreshing and amusing to be honest

ToadOfSadness · 16/08/2018 21:23

I wish they were near me. As long as they do what they say I would be happy with that.

LyndorCake · 16/08/2018 21:26

Way prefer the honest approach!
At least if they are acknowledging that they are human and so will acknowledge that you are too. So you don't have to have the house pristine or have your hair and makeup done. They probably don't mind you shouting at the dog to shut up as well.

Just think of all the crappy customers they've had which prompted them to write that. Who would let their dog go sniffing round someone trying to work? Why would you be offended at someone saying no to a brew?

IKnowItsTIMHONKSTIMHONKS · 16/08/2018 21:27

I was more annoyed with the typos. If you can't proof read your own passive aggression then how good are you at doing surveys? I hope "attention to detail" isn't listed as one of their best qualities.

I do quite like the approach though, I wish I could've been this blunt with some of my customers in past jobs!

VeniVidiWeeWee · 16/08/2018 21:42

Typos? You mean the two missing spaces/hyphens and one apostrophe?

AmazingGrace16 · 16/08/2018 21:54

I love this transparency. I'd use them!

MadeForThis · 16/08/2018 22:31

I like it. Harsh and honest.

xyzandabc · 16/08/2018 22:37

Honest, amusing and shows that they are human, not a big shiny corporate company. I'd ask them for a quote. I don't have a dog or live near the A75 so that should help!

DappledThings · 16/08/2018 22:38

I would definitely use them. I'd love to be able to write that bluntly in my job. I think I'd get on very well with them.

jarhead123 · 16/08/2018 22:39

Cringe! What an awful website & company. Would be put off.

DontFuckingSayIt · 16/08/2018 22:42

It's a front for something Grin

AlexanderHamilton · 16/08/2018 22:43

I think that’s excellent. I would definately use them.

Merryoldgoat · 16/08/2018 22:47

I’d definitely use them - I think it’s great!

JennyBlueWren · 16/08/2018 22:54

A flooring company near me puts up similar messages on Facebook. They are also extremely popular.

DontCallMeBaby · 16/08/2018 22:55

Love it, especially the bit about the squirt cream canisters. I like companies who are absolutely up-front about what they provide and what they need in return (and yes, I’d like to be equally blunt at work too).

emsiboob · 16/08/2018 22:58

Hahaha brilliant.

I wouldn't if I'm honest. Can you imagine trying to get them back for a remedial. He sounds very righteous and condescending

DameSquashalot · 16/08/2018 23:05

I like their approach.

CurrentlyAwayFromTheCompuer · 16/08/2018 23:05

Their website isn't gdpr compliant (I am saying this as I am sure they will see an increase in hits in their google analytics and see mumsnet as the referrer. Then find this thread!)

That said, brilliant! I would use them!

Doobigetta · 16/08/2018 23:10

You get the distinct impression that Eoin would tell you what to choose, and bluster about time wasters if you had the temerity to want your own pick. And how poor are their social skills if it’s too difficult to politely refuse the food and drink offers in person?!
The one that kills it for me, though, is the “we’ll be late- deal with it” statement. If you can’t even try to work out how to plan in contingency time for basic car journeys, you don’t get a sniff of my money. Totally unprofessional.

PickAChew · 16/08/2018 23:10

I think it's brilliant. I'd use them. The fact that I'd know what to do before even getting to the point of contacting them would likely win me over.
