To say no-hen do related

I'm going to a hen do this weekend in a city about half an hour from me. We have a hotel booked for the night at £65 a person and have paid club entry at £45 per person as well.

I only know the hen and have never met any of the other people coming. I live just east of the city whilst everyone else lives an hour north. A request has been made for us all to chip in for a limo at a cost of £50 per person to pick us all up from one of the girls houses then picking the hen up then taking us all to the city.

My question is AIBU to say no as it makes no sense for me to travel to where they live just to come back down to a city that is only a 20 minute drive from me?

I also in all honesty can't afford another £50 on top of the other costs that are already involved so would it be unreasonable for me to say no and if I do, do you think it will instantly cause an issue between me and the rest of the girls?

Just expand as you have here.

YANBU.

I am a Hen Grinch though, so take what I say with a pinch of salt Grin.

I’d just send a breezy message saying

“Sounds like a lot of fun! Due to logistics though, I think I’ll make my own way there and I’ll meet up with you guys at the bar/hotel.”

FatCow2018 · 16/08/2018 17:52

Yep perfectly reasonable to just meet them there.

DPotter · 16/08/2018 17:53

Says in high pitched voice - missing the point completely - £45 for club entry!! Blimey

SandAndSea · 16/08/2018 17:59

YANBU.

I like @dinosaurkisses 's suggested reply.

loveyoutothemoon · 16/08/2018 18:00

Don't overthink this. Just meet them there.

Clionba · 16/08/2018 18:06

dinosaurkisses me too!
However, why on earth is the club costing £45? What's included in that? A meal I hope Grin

LeftRightCentre · 16/08/2018 18:08

What dinosaur said.

Littlechocola · 16/08/2018 18:09

Christ, what kind of club are you going to?
Say no, it would be ridiculous

BurgerHill · 16/08/2018 18:09

Thank you all, I just wanted to check it wasn't a dick move to hike the price for everyone else just because it doesn't suit me.

It now turns out the limo would actually have been closer to £65 so I'm glad I said no.

To answer your questions; there is food included in the club entry Grin

The limo is as much as the hotel!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 16/08/2018 18:23

Definitely ok to duck out of limo. I didn't realise they were so expensive.

Rollonweekend · 16/08/2018 18:56

Utter madness.

MazDazzle · 16/08/2018 19:03

I am a generous miss scattercash & even I’d draw the line there.

ThistleAmore · 16/08/2018 19:11

£65 per person to hire a car? Is it made out of unicorn horns and diamonds?

In answer to your question - no, U are being totally R. That's madness.
