Anyone else feel like literally just switching off from the world? Social media, exposure and so many media platforms portray and give people permission to use words in such a manipulative, hurtful, pessimistic way and I've just had enough.

This post may be ironic as I'm posting it on an online forum, but I've found this site fairly helpful - it's things like Facebook seeing people tear each other down, belittle people and shame others daily - it's instagram with people pretending to be something their not just for the hell of it - it's twitter giving people will social influence the platform to voice hurtful comments and then seeing support for these comments and society change purely because of them.

I've just deleted all three, and I'm going to go for a long walk on my own. Feel free to share lovely uplifting hopeful stories please. My faith needs to be restored here Grin

I'm sure lots of people will agree but I choose what I see on social media to a large extent and as such I enjoy it and get something positive from it. My facebook is made up of food and books and perfume, architecture and nature, some politics, friends and family who live abroad who I can keep in touch with - there's nothing harmful or hurtful about it.

If it'll make you feel better being off them then good for you, better to take action than not.

Enjoy your walk Smile

I turned it off and felt far better!

I don't do any social media.
Yes I miss out on a few things, but I feel I gain more than I lose.
