...Anyone else who can't sleep? (A level results day)...

Just that really. Dd's school publish results online at 6am, so less than 6 hours. I'm just sitting staring at the clock watching the seconds go by.

Doesn't help that we've got to do it all again next week with dd2's GCSE results...

I'm crapping it too. My DD has just informed me like 30 seconds ago that its results day tomorrow ... well today! (I mistakenly thought it was Friday!). I've been dreading this because she got behind on work (due to her bloody laziness) and had to put in a lot of work to try and catch up. i have no idea how its going to turn out, but keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck to you and your DDs. hope you get some sleep. I'm making a coffee and putting 'Friends' on while I try and get over that little heart attack!

Yes but as a teacher. This is my 10th year but it still churns my stomach whilst I go through a million different outcomes in my head.

My form (who I have had since Y7) are getting their results tomorrow so I feel like all my babies are getting their results!!

Good luck for your DD.

ahh Fiveletters, your babies are getting their wings. That's so nice. Wishing you a happy and rewarding day Smile

Jupiter9 · 16/08/2018 01:03

Hope it all goes well.

Horsemad · 16/08/2018 01:06

Aaah, good luck to all who are waiting; this was us last year with DS2. It's always a tense time!

Stupomax · 16/08/2018 03:45

Good luck - I'm so glad we don't have to go through this!

PandaG · 16/08/2018 04:58

Also awake here. Aaaaaarrrgghhh!

HelpmeobiMN · 16/08/2018 07:29

Any updates? I’m ready to celebrate or sympathise, whatever is required!

Jennjann · 16/08/2018 07:36

Dd got A*AAB, so she's got into her firm choice!

YAY! well done her! Bet you’re both thrilled Grin Tell her congratulations from MN!

dancinfeet · 16/08/2018 07:53

best of luck and well done to all of your DC's - my DD is just getting ready to go into school when it opens at 9am (they don't put theirs online). Haven't spoken to her yet, she's on edge, but then she also has a dance audition this afternoon.

NorthernLurker · 16/08/2018 07:59

Good luck all. Dd1 got her results two years ago. Feels like yesterday, waiting is the worst! Next year for dd2 but at least she doesn't want to do medicine! The feeling when dd got in was brilliant though!

MrHoolieswaistcoat · 16/08/2018 08:12

DS1 is going into school for 9am. I’m far more anxious than he is! He needs 3 As to get his first choice. Jenn Congratulations to your DD 🍾

13th year as a teacher and it never gets easier!
Doesn't help that I have been off all year for mat leave and major surgery. Colleagues have done an amazing job and between us our results are fab!
I am so proud of the students for what they have achieved...good luck to all of you out there, hope it all goes well ThanksThanks

This was me and DS last year. He didn't get his first choice university place, and his second choice offered him a somewhat different course; but he found his confident side again and got a really good place at a really good institution by 10.30am.

Word of advice of advice if going through Clearing - check what 'guaranteed accommodation' actually means. We ended up over a barrel with eye-wateringly expensive Unite Halls, which the university was in some sort of partnership with.
