Hello
I’ve been feeling sort of flat for a while and don’t really enjoy doing much - feel like I can’t be bothered a lot of the time.
I’m fine with my job (not aspiring to be employee of the year but I’m doing ok). I used to enjoy music but not really bothered now. Also liked different series on Tv but nothing much takes my fancy. I used to like having a clean house, now it’s a real chore and although it hasn’t turned into a hovel, it’s not a great standard. My enthusiasm for most things have pretty much gone AWOL!
I’m wondering whether I need anti depressants or something but I’m functional and don’t feel sad as such ... so hoping for some ideas as to how to get my zest back for life?

Has anybody else’s get up and go ever gone? What got you out of it,

All ideas 💡 thankfully received

D.

Change of hair style and a new hobby

Not finding joy in things you used to is an indication of depression but doesn't mean you need medication necessarily. How long have you felt this way ?

Try starting with making a real effort to get active and socialise even when it feels like a chore at first.

Are you overweight and/or overweight? If you are, they both start to take an enormous toll on your body and mental well-being with every passing year. In any case, exercise is probably the best way to re-invigorate yourself.

It’s so weird but an awful lot of people I know have been feeling like this in August.

I feel exactly the same - not hugely depressed, just a bit dissatisfied and wishing I’d get my spark back. On paper my life is amazing and I really have nothing to moan about, but there’s something I can’t quite put my finger on.

I’ve started a new fitness regime and have a holiday soon so hoping it’s just life fatigue and a holiday will get me going again!

Book a holiday and start playing tennis or netball. There's a big netball thing going on at the moment.

Have you watched the ‘I had a black dog. His name was depression’ cartoon on YouTube? Have a look.

Besides the possible depression, have a think about a time in your not so distant past when you were happy. What’s different?

I get this every so often. I can just advise what works for me - yoga, running, long walks, regular meditation (that’s a real goodie actually - 10 mins a day seems to make loads of difference) And trying something new - from going to a random play to trying a martial arts taster. Best of luck!

I feel the same way too .
I am a bit over weight and that is getting me down a bit, but I just don’t feel ‘me’
