I know smoothies get a bad rep for being 'mostly sugar' and a quick way of drinking hundreds of calories. Recently bought a NutriNinja and have been trying out a smoothie a day (mostly as a way of playing with said blender..) This morning for breakfast I had the following -
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 small banana
Few scoops of 0% fat Greek yoghurt
1 tbsp seeds
Water to blend
Friend says all blended fruit causes weight gain. If I'd eaten 1/2 a cup of blueberries and half a banana I don't think there'd be an issue. I don't eat any other fruit in a day, really. Loads of veggies though.
Thoroughly boring AIBU but just to settle a debate.. I don't think that is a bad breakfast but the internet seems to be agreeing with friend, though all the recipes I find call for whole bananas, dates, honey etc. Anyone intrigued enough about smoothies ( or bored ) enough to offer an opinion?
