Few weeks ago our car that we have had about 6 months was parked on our drive, next door has a child who is not well (I'm not sure of the condition) they allow child out on the front on their own. Child has decided to draw on our car bonnet, we knew it was child as the same chalk was all down their drive.My OH knocked on their door and informed them of what's happened, they apologised, made their child apologise and told us if it leaves a mark they will get some tcut. Partner washed pen off left it to dry and there is indeed marks on the bonnet, we informed neighbour this, she said would get someone to tcut it and walked off, she seemed a bit off with us as if we were disturbing her. We haven't seen or heard anything for two weeks now, completely avoiding us. My partner went and bought tcut and it hasn't worked, you can still see faint marks where obviously she has pressed down to draw. What would u do? The being decent approach hasn't worked, partner was very calm talking to them about it.I'm guessing legally we don't have a leg to stand on. I very highly doubt they are gonna pay for the damage to be honest.
