Sore boobs

My baby is 7 months old, had to give up breast feeding 5 months ago. For the past month I’ve had achy boobs. Not constantly but quite often. It’s not painful just quite achy/sore. I have no lumps, no change of skin texture and no history of breast cancer in my family. Could there been a reason for this that isn’t sinister? I have anexity so tend to think of the worst in all situations. Anyone else had this?

Sorry to hear you’re going through this worry. Could it be a symptom of pms? Have you started periods again? I found after kids and stopping BF everything was all over the place!
Good luck Flowers

Have your periods returned? I never used to get breast pain as a pms symptom, but do every month since o had DD

Birdsgottafly · 13/08/2018 22:50

Is all of your milk gone?

Does the ache go when you apply heat, or are in a bath etc?

Housequeen101 · 13/08/2018 22:54

Periods returned almost immediately after I gave birth. Pretty sure my milk is gone. The aching is in my armpit too, right in the crease where your arm comes down

Your hormones are changing and your cycle will be regulating again. Don’t worry

Ansumpasty · 13/08/2018 22:56

Could also be your chest muscles that are aching from bending down and picking up a big baby all day long!

Bizzysocks · 13/08/2018 23:11

I had this, I just needed new supportive bras. I was still wearing my nursing bras and although they felt comfy they weren't supporting my boobs.

missymayhemsmum · 13/08/2018 23:23

pulled muscle, dodgy bra, hormonal changes or could you be pregnant? Only you know what kind of achy it is

UterusUterusGhali · 13/08/2018 23:29

How old are you?

I recently saw a breast specialist as I've had very sore breasts. I'm 38. The dr said the breasts cells get kinda carried away and all fired up wanting some lactation action as we approach menopause. Nothing sinister, just needy cells iyswim. Might be worth a trip to the gp and referral to the breast clinic though.

blueberryporridge · 13/08/2018 23:44

I would go to the GP. I had breast pain a couple of years ago but it turned out to be referred pain from my neck (which wasn't sore) - physio exercises sorted it out very quickly.

BlueBug45 · 13/08/2018 23:47

@UterusUterusGhali 38 is young to go through the menopause.

AndBabyMakes3 · 14/08/2018 00:30

@Housequeen101 could you be pregnant again?

NadiaLeon · 14/08/2018 02:05

You may get better answers on a different thread. This is AIBU

Hi, thanks for your replies. I’m 27. Nope not pregnant, could be the unsupportive bra, my bras are from Asda and they are forever having a wire poking out. I’ve slepr on my tummy a few times to which can’t be good for boobs, also Noticed yesterday that I’ve been running up stairs with no bra on. I think the achy ness in my armpits confused me.

Nadia I know this is aibu, I posted here for traffic.

Thanks for your replies x
