Does anyone have a build a bear Hookfang?

MsHopey · 13/08/2018 15:13

Been looking everywhere for a discontinued build a bear Hookfang from How to Train your Dragon.
I've managed to get DS the 2 other discontinued dragons and brought Meatlug and Toothless new from BAB.
But eBay, Facebook and Shpock don't seem to have a hookfang anywhere in this country (except in a bundle that is severely overpriced which obviously I don't need).
Does anyone out there have a Hookfang that they don't need/want and are willing to sell?
I literally don't know know what else to do and I really want all of them for DS!
I wouldn't normally ask but I've seen people on here searching for missing teddies, blankets, shoes. Literally everything, so if it doesn't break mumsnet rules I thought I'd give it a shot!

Is there a special reason why you want all of them for your son?

YABU
There's a big difference between trying to find a replacement toy for one that has gone missing or damaged beyond repair and trying to obtain a toy that your child has never owned in order to have the full collection (which your DS will care about much less than yourself).
Either buy the bundle on Ebay and resell what you don't want to reclaim some of the cost or continue to keep a look out yourself on the sites you mentioned in the OP.

user139328237 · 13/08/2018 15:25

Oh and there's plenty of other Hookfang soft toys available on Ebay (I really can't see the manufacturer mattering to most children)

MsHopey · 13/08/2018 15:27

I'll keep looking.
I didn't think people would say it's unreasonable tbh Blush
And he's only young but we've been watching all the series and films as a family for the past few months and likes the ones he's already got.
It's not the end of the world, but I've been looking for a few months and have been struggling to find a Hookfang.
He just seems quite rare. I've done wanted ads on other sites but haven't got any replies Sad

Bizarrely aggressive response!

If someone has a spare one they don’t need and would happily sell to OP then what’s the harm in her asking?

Laiste · 13/08/2018 15:30

Why would anyone post here with reasons why OP shouldn't be looking or asking for a particular soft toy ? Confused

Can't help you with the toy OP, but can tell you i don't think you're being U to ask.

NoFuckingRoomOnMyBroom · 13/08/2018 15:33

Having a bad day user ? Hmm
NU to ask at all but sorry can't help you out.

OkPedro · 13/08/2018 15:38

Are you saying BAB have discontinued hookfang?

My dd is a huge fan

She bought hookfang recently in BAB in Dublin

MsHopey · 13/08/2018 15:40

@OkPedro he's not in my local store and not on their website Sad
Neither is stormfly or barf and belch but I managed to get one off Shpock and one off eBay. I do keep searching.

Churrolicious · 13/08/2018 15:44

Not unreasonable at all to ask, but don’t have one here I’m afraid!

NCPuffin · 13/08/2018 15:47

Another one here who doesn't understand the angry response... Can't help you out, but have you considered calling individual stores to see if they have any in stock? Stock might not be update centrally, so there could be one lying around somewhere. I think it's sweet you're doing this for your sonSmile

shoofly · 13/08/2018 15:51

I don't think there's anything wrong with you asking. We'll be near the BAB store in Belfast this week if you wanted me to pop in and have a look?

Lilicat1013 · 13/08/2018 15:57

Is this the right one? It's expensive but I am not sure how much they usually are

There is a couple more on there, search 'Build a Bear how to train your dragon' leave out the character name as some people don't include it

argentino · 13/08/2018 15:59

Also, I wasn't asking to be passive aggressive just curious if there was a special reason why having all characters was of importance (sick child etc). OP, my daughter does have the red dragon (didn't realise it had a name as we've never seen the films) but it's been slobbered all over and shared with the dog. It was given to her for her birthday a few months ago so perhaps it hasn't been discontinued in some places- we are in Berkshire btw. Hope you find it for your son.

MsHopey · 13/08/2018 16:02

I have been specifically using Hookfang in the title.
Seems that might have been the wrong choice.
Gutting they want £35. (I think it's around £22 new).
On the fence, I really want it for my DS, but on the other hand I'm not super flush with the cash.
It's hard to walk the line of sensible financial decisions and getting the LOs the presents they deserve.

It seems my store might be the only one that doesn't have it Angry

Lilicat1013 · 13/08/2018 16:04

Ask them to phone other stores and see if they will send one to your local one. It's worth a try.

MsHopey · 13/08/2018 16:04

Not a super specific reason.
He's not sick or anything. I just love him and want to get it for him.

OP posts:
MsHopey · 13/08/2018 16:05

I will phone the store and see what they can do for me. And I'll mention that other people have recently brought them from their local stores.

TheDropBear · 13/08/2018 16:06

There's loads on eBay shipping from the US and the one Lilicat posted is from the UK and buy it now.

MamaBearThius · 13/08/2018 16:13

Have you tried a build a bear outlet? There is one at the designer outlet place in Mansfield. They sell the older season stock
