Chewing gum nightmare.

AIBU to have a minor meltdown at the fact I've just sat on my sofa, sat in chewing gum and got it all over my new jeans?

Gum must have come from DH or lodger, not from outside. 'D'H told me I'm in the wrong for 'being obsessed' with finding out who's to blame.

I'm fuming, and can't be why I am in the wrong as he says, but intrigued to see what you guys think....

Try freezing it off with ice.

Yep done that!

I’m disgusted that potentially 2 adults could accidentally spit chewing gum out on a couch and not notice or clean it up. Seriously?!

SophSoph92 · 13/08/2018 15:19

Yep!! Hence my meltdown!! Revolting.
Neither admitted fault and neither said sorry. The thought of baby boy picking it up and putting it in his mouth is just awful too.
I'm fuming.

I'm a massive slob by nature and I'm still surprised anyone could just drop chewing gum on the sofa and either not notice or worse notice but not bother to do anything about it.

Yupindeedy · 13/08/2018 15:37

I would be fuming too. Is he accusing you of ‘being obsessed about finding out who’s to blame’ because he knows he’s to blame.

He’s deflecting his guilt by making out you’re wrong. Edging towards a little gaslighting action there me thinks.

The fact that your DH said that, makes me think he did it... if your DH believed it could not possibly have been him, he'd presumably have been cross too?
