to be annoyed that hospital has cancelled long awaited ENT apt, and is unable to offer new?

I have been watiting for my ENT apt for 3 months! I booked it in march for 5th June through "Chose and Book", I got a letter on friday saying I have yet to book my apt, so I called this morning, and the system has cancelled my appointment!! RAAAAH
They cannot book a new apointment for me, the system will not let him, I can call the houspital direct and ASK if I actually have an apointment for 5th June, as it could be that the apt is still there, it is just that the system is not really working. So, I said, do you think the hospital could book an apt for me if the apt is not there? Possibly, but it might be better to go back to my GP and get a new referral!!!

How crap is that???

I would just turn up with the letter and say afayk it was on that day

Bloody choose and book, waste of f*ing time if you ask me, tried to book DH an appointment and the system was down, told to wait a couple of days so called back 3 days later and still the system was down. Told them I was not impressed as DH needed an appointment ASAP and they said they would need to contact the hospital with DH details and that hospital would contact us within 2 weeks, 2 wks later they havent contacted us so I have tried again through choose and book and eventually got an appointment for july 17th. Why does everything have to be so complicated.

Its daft round here as we only have one hospital within 80 miles so unless its something specialist you would go to the local one.
