How much meat would you buy for a barbecue for 6 adults and 3 children if there were sides of cous cous , salad , garlic bread , corn on the cob , baked potatoes , veg & haloumi kebabs , potato salad and coleslaw ?
And also what type of meat ?

Far too much probably.

If I was being sensible, and had a Weber (kettle bbq with lid), I'd do two whole chickens with those sides.

3 x 4 packs of burgers.
2 x 12 packs of sausages
2 x 6 packs of chicken thighs to do in two different marinades.

That’s two sausages, one piece of chicken and a burger each, plus extras. And cold bbq meat is the best.

I normally allow 2 sausages and 2 pieces of meat (so 2 burgers or 1 burger, 1 piece of chicken/lamb etc) per person, and then add a couple of extras in case someone bucks the trend and has 3 sausages and no burger or something awkward!

Thanks these replies are helpful .
My husband had put in the online basket

4 x sirloin steaks
5 x Chinese pork chops
1.4kg Texan chicken thighs
1.4 kg Chinese chicken thighs
1.5 kg chicken breast
750g garlic chicken steaks
1.5kg plain drumsticks
2 x 8 beef burgers
24 sausages

We would have been eating leftovers for days . Plus I'm relieved the cost will go right down when I amend the order 😆
