To think these reality show contestants were CFs?

Today I was in the International Convention Centre in Birmingham City Centre with my 5 month old DD and my friend, and her 14 month old DS.

Unbeknownst to me they were shooting auditions for "The Greatest Dancer" a BBC1 dance reality show at one of the halls in the Centre. The Centre was still open to the public and indeed there are businesses, cafes and shops open in the Centre.

Well we had lunch at the Centre and followed the signs for wheelchair/ pram exit. As we went to use this exit we saw 3 teenagers waiting in front of the door blocking our access out. They told us this area was not open to the public. I was confused as these teens were clearly not staff and this was a clearly marked exit in a public area. There was no other accessible exit nearby I could see.

A programme "chaperone" then told us they were shooting and one of these teens was believed to be a potential winner of the show so they were filming a segment of them leaving the Centre. As a result they were blocking the exit as they were waiting for their shoot.

My friend got upset and told them we were 2 mums with our children who just wanted to use the exit. Her DS was getting agitated and had started to cry . After being told to wait, she walked off and I followed behind.

I realised the show and the contestants blocked off the wheelchair access/pram exit to film a segment for the show. My friend was very annoyed and I couldn't help think the potential contestants were well on their way to divasville telling us that this exit was not open to us lest we get in the way of their shoot. Cheeky gits.

Does anyone else have divasville stories of wannabee celebs to share?

At 10 to 9 Casualty was filming in a park that was on the way to work. They tried to close the road at the top of the park off . When we were walking to work they tried to stop us because we were interfering with filming. Some woman pointed out that some people needed to be at their desks by 9 and it was a stupid time to want to film anyway.

It's the ICC's fault then. Everything should have been marked - where they're filming, where you could go, and where you couldn't.

If I was the person in charge of booking the audition venue I'd be fuming.

I used to work at the ICC. There are several disabled exits. It also is not a public thoroughfare so any part can be blocked off at any time.
