To ask if we should start potty training?!

DD is 20 months, v interested in the toilet/potty. Tells me when she has pooped and sometimes when she needs to go. Regularly asks to sit on potty but has only once pooped on there, never peed.
Have read oh crap potty training and feel like she is ready but don't know if Im mentally ready for it. Also have DS, 8 weeks.
Should we go for it this weekend or leave it a while?

I'd pop the potty in the rooms wherever you are and let her get used to using it without doing the "we are definitely potty training" thing. Just see how she takes to it; DS1 used to like just sitting on his and reading a book whenever he felt like it, and it seemed far less fraught than forcing it. He'd accidentally wee on it to begin with and we'd cheer so much he then clicked that he could do it on purpose and get more cheers!

Taking her to choose her own underpants might encourage it, though; we always used that as a little 'bribe' when the DCs showed an interest and the fact that they chose their own had a definite positive impact on them.

Go for it! I followed 'oh crap' potty training and it worked brilliantly for us, my DS cracked it after a few days
