YABU

A tin of all-day breakfast is the true food of gods

Beanfield · 10/08/2018 10:28

Similar though. Would go nicely with the mash.

Nasty powdery stuff. Now frozen mash in those extruded cylinders .

wink1970 · 10/08/2018 10:37

It's quite good for thickening up stews as well - not too much or the stew goes cloudy, but a little is highly recommended.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 10/08/2018 10:40

Yes, with lots of butter.

keepingbees · 10/08/2018 10:49

Yanbu. Frozen mash is better than made from scratch in my opinion

ThisIsntMeHonestGuv · 10/08/2018 10:51

You are all weirdos.

I love smash. The Tesco own one is even better.

Takfujimoto · 10/08/2018 11:03

Nowt better than a Yorkshire the size of your head, buttery smash with proper HM onion gravy made with beef dripping and shit tonne of black pepper.

Rainbowmelon · 10/08/2018 11:05

I can't get within 1m of it before gagging violently

BlueberryPud · 10/08/2018 11:09

The food of my youth, with a birds eye chicken pie. And I was slender as a willow. Might have it tonight.

icelolly99 · 10/08/2018 11:10

I know some people who say it's wonderful stuff but I've not been tempted. Maybe I'm a bit snobby; I've never bought tinned spaghetti hoops either Grin

Heismyopendoor · 10/08/2018 11:13

The Honest Earth one (but it in a big box from Costco) is really good! Doesn’t taste powdery, but I don’t like any others that I’ve tried

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 10/08/2018 11:15

I could happily eat instant mash at any time of day.

Also love 'proper' mash. I freeze it in portions and mix it up with either butter/pepper, or carrots/swede/cabbage or sometimes SHOCK HORROR horseradish sauce.

ToadOfSadness · 10/08/2018 11:16

The Asda one is revolting, and it is not instant, you have to microwave it, someone bought it by accident.

I buy the Morrisons one because I can't find it anywhere else/forget to look, but frozen one from Iceland is the best so far, problem is storing it due to freezer space.

longwayoff · 10/08/2018 11:22

Waitrose frozen mash is great. Little tubes. Excellent and cheap at £1 a go.

Bezm · 10/08/2018 11:31

This!

Instant mashed potato
Bezm · 10/08/2018 11:32

Or fresh mash Asda Finest. Love it with a fried egg on top, mushy baked beans and crispy bacon.
It's food of the Gods!

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 10/08/2018 11:36

I'm not with you on the instant mash, but I could eat M&S ready made cheesey mash until it oozes out of my pores.

Hidillyho · 10/08/2018 11:36

Blurgh. I went out for lunch and got DC sausage and mash. It mash must have been either instant or smash. It was vile. And if it wasn’t either of those then the ‘chef’ needs more training

lastnamefirstfirstnamelast · 10/08/2018 11:44

its vile stuff, i do prefere to make may own with copious amiunts of lurpak, cream, mature cheese and a slither of mustard. ...

saying that, i'm planning on having a bombay badboy pot noodle for lunch as its Friday.....

SendYouUpInFlames · 10/08/2018 11:49

KatieMarieJ · 10/08/2018 11:51

Yes to the Idaho mash! Smash etc can go for me, but Idahoan is lush. :)

Gotthetshirt23 · 10/08/2018 12:05
