To ask about exchanging clothing no receipt?

We had or DS#2 in June. He was bought lots of lovely clothes from lots of different people, we have no gift receipts.
Lots of the sleepsuits he has not worn due to recent heatwave.
Do you think Next will exchange them for a bigger size? They have labels on with price cut off but how do they know I havn't nicked them?

I’ve done it at other shops as I’m terrible for losing receipts. They are usually fine if you want to exchange rather than get a refund.

I never have a problem exchanging at my Next, they give you whatever value they currently are though (eg if they have gone in the sale.)

I doubt they would tbh. You could have bought them on eBay for example. I worked in retail for a while and hated customers trying to return things without a receipt. We could exchange sometimes but with the price cut off, I’m unsure it would be allowed.

Sorry, I understand the pain. My DS was bought lots of newborn Next stuff and he didn’t fit into newborn. I had to give it away.

They probably will, but legally they don't have to.

I often swapped baby clothes without gift receipts. There never seemed to be a problem, even when exchanging for a different item. However this was about 3-4 years ago.
Having said that I tried to exchange a gift in fat face the other week, for another size and they were having none of it...

O.k thanks I will give it a go.

You might as well ask at the store, just tell them the truth. Even if they don’t refund they may allow you to exchange for a larger size.

Failing that sell them on EBay.

They will probably all have been reduced in the sale by now anyway so you won't get the full price (If that's even what was paid in the first place)

Personally, I'd sell them online. People will snap them up and you'll likely get more than if you took them back to the shop.

It was a couple of years ago when I worked at Next, the rule back then was they would exchange but for the current selling prices. If they've gone through the sale (very likely, sale was in July) then you will get the lower price for them. However if you have a gift receipt, they will normally honorary the full price.

Like I say, a few years ago though!
