Newcastle Weather?

Not an aibu as such but heading on a weekend away to Newcastle tomorrow and curious as to what the weather is supposed to be like?

I'm coming down from Scotland and it has cooled down here recently, no longer sweating constantly and can wear jeans again.

Is it too hot for jeans still? Too hot for ankle boots? Should I fish my summer dresses and sandals back out?

There's this amazing thing called Google I hear, that can even find you a weather forecast.

marshmallowkittycat · 09/08/2018 22:59

Today has been a bit cooler, but I think it's warming up a bit at the weekend, plus thunderstorms. Erm so pack al of them. I'm still in jeans here and not meltingly hot.

sailorcherries · 09/08/2018 23:00

Oh jee whizz thanks!

Aside from forecasts from Google telling me it would rain today in my home town and then it didn't.

Google also fails to say how hot it actually feels.

Hello sailor Smile
I'm in Durham so not far from Newcastle. Its been cooler the last couple of days, you'll be ok in jeans and boots I reckon. You'll need a denim jacket or similar, its sunny but definitely on the cooler side! Forecast says we might get a few showers tomorrow and Saturday too.

sailorcherries · 09/08/2018 23:01

Thank you marshmallowkittycat. I've had jackets in and out, brollies in and out, boots and sandals in and out 🤣

Thanks meanderthal the brolly is safely packed and ready.

You'd probably get better answers in the topic, rather than in AIBU. Though the expert posters might spot it here as well. They're really nice and helpful about forecasts and upcoming events in 'Weather'

(I was wondering if this was longer-range peering ahead to GNR!)

'Google also fails to say how hot it actually feels'

Try the Met Office site - it does this. And is heaps better than BBC or google.

Broussard · 09/08/2018 23:05

'Google also fails to say how hot it actually feels

Nope. Sites like accuweather give you temp and RealFeel temp.

Sweetpea55 · 09/08/2018 23:06

Whatever the temperature the females in the Bigg Market will be wearing the minimum possible

sailorcherries · 09/08/2018 23:08

The accuweather app on my phone had rain for 3pm today. I hung a washing out then but thanks broussard. If you're wanting an argument you're wasting your time.

Thanks AuntieStella I never knew there was a 'Weather' board!

I’m still in dresses, bare legs and a jacket. Saturday meant to be decent enough in the morning with some actual sun

sailorcherries · 09/08/2018 23:08

Sweatpea55 what is the Bigg Market?

leanne9312 · 09/08/2018 23:10

AnguaResurgam · 09/08/2018 23:12

"Whatever the temperature the females in the Bigg Market will be wearing the minimum possible"

And the lads will still be in the thinner Tshirts.

TheFrenchLieutenantsMonkey · 09/08/2018 23:25

Bigg Market is where the drinking gets done OP.

sailorcherries · 09/08/2018 23:37

Ah that doesn't bother me. I've neither the body or inclination to be scantily dressed. My old faithful midi skirts are packed Smile
