Personal trainer ghosted me

Soo I'm wracking my brain wondering if I've crossed some line or missed some kind of social queue. Had a few sessions with a pt specialising in powerlifting with a few different friends of mine to help split costs. Sent several messages and calls but had no response. Attached the conversation. Messages have been seen, phone calls gone ignored. Have I missed something here?

Could be anything!! Family crisis or whatever.

MissCharleyP · 09/08/2018 19:41

Strange and very unprofessional. Barring a sudden emergency in their personal life it’s rude to just not respond. If you’re keen on PTing with them, you could pop into the gym and see if they’re around, otherwise I’d look for someone else.

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 09/08/2018 19:41

It doesn't look like she's actually read the messages, like the PP said there could be anything up

Moominfan · 09/08/2018 19:56

I edited the shot they've definitely been read. Its a small niche gym, they've posted online l since I've called and rang.

Sounds flakey, take your money somewhere else you don’t want to waste time and money on someone unreliable.

turnaroundbrighteyes · 09/08/2018 20:03

He says in the first message that they close at 3pm then you keep asking for times later than that. Could that be it? Or does he definitely work later on the other days?

Gabilan · 09/08/2018 20:03

Do they close at 3 everyday? Because she says they close at 3 and then every time you've suggested is later. Or am I reading this wrong?

bbcessex · 09/08/2018 20:06

Messages are dated May, or have I got that wrong?

Pippylou · 09/08/2018 20:08

Busted for dodgy dealings?

Our local PL gym closed suddenly and the previous one was burnt down and I live somewhere "quiet"...

Moominfan · 09/08/2018 20:08

Close at 3pm Sunday. That was in May

Moominfan · 09/08/2018 20:09

Then next messages were from yesterday

OP posts:
Moominfan · 09/08/2018 20:10

It's the only power lifting gym near me :/ otherwise would just go elsewhere

OP posts:
bbcessex · 09/08/2018 20:18

Were you a flakey client, OP?

I know one PT in particular who is so sought after, if you don’t put the time & effort in, you’re out PDQ

Bibesia · 09/08/2018 20:20

At this time of year, s/he could be on holiday.

SheCameFromGreeceSheHadaThirst · 09/08/2018 20:21

Unless I'm looking at the screenshot wrong, you've sent them two recent messages, a day apart (the rest were from May, is that correct)? Maybe they're on holiday, maybe they're ill, maybe they're insanely busy just now and haven't had a chance to get back to you.

Kind of melodramatic to claim to have been 'ghosted'

Aprilshowersinaugust · 09/08/2018 20:24

My PT stood me up in October - still no word, he has moved to another gym.
Cripes I wasn't that bad!
It is hard not to take it personally op, their loss - give your cash elsewhere!!

slashlover · 09/08/2018 20:31

So you haven't tried to book anything for 3 months?

ButchyRestingFace · 09/08/2018 20:32

You haven't booked since May?

Moominfan · 09/08/2018 20:35

Yea they never responded in may so left it but itching to get back. Had sessions every week up until that point so wasn't flakey

OP posts:
Moominfan · 09/08/2018 20:36

Really annoying it's the only powerlifting gym /trainer near me. Defo not on holiday they've since been posting online.

OP posts:
Moominfan · 09/08/2018 20:38

Is it really melodramatic? Calls been ignored, messages read and not responded. I think that's unkind and rude

OP posts:
Botanicbaby · 09/08/2018 20:44

If the gym is near you why not pop in and ask what about it face to face? It doesn’t sound like they think they need your business though. If they cba responding back in May, what makes you think they will now just as you’ve decided you’re ‘itching to get back into it’?

Moominfan · 09/08/2018 20:47

Yea I think cause they're the only place they've not struggled for business. I wrote them ignoring me off in May, they'd not longed opened. A colleague mentioned she was interested in powerlifting so thought I'd give them another try

OP posts:
Strongbeatsskinny · 09/08/2018 20:59

If you’ve not been to the gym since may it’s possible that they’ve deleted your number from their phone and haven’t a clue who’s texting.

I’d just call in at the gym and have a face to face conversation with them.

Pippylou · 09/08/2018 21:07

Is it mainly (for) men? I went to one local place and did not have a warm welcome, to say the least...

Have you got a crossfit place near you, they'd probably let you lift if they have open gym? Online for programming? Not ideal, I know but if they're this uncommunicative, I'd be worried to train there.
